The poem(s) are below...

Sweeping up the Heart

The absence in the house
The years after Mama's death
Inspired ceramic industries
Surpassing artisan dearth

His handmade big clay heart
Clearly said "C + A"
When shall she see him again?
Not till Saturday.

(My poem above is an adaption of the Emily Dickinson poem below. I wrote mine after reading a book named after Emily's poem. It's called "Sweeping up the Heart" by Kevin Henkes -- so my poem kinda imitates Emily's poem structure/ theme, and combines it with what's going on in this middle school chapter book).

"The Bustle in a House The Morning after Death Is solemnest of industries Enacted upon Earth The Sweeping up the Heart And putting Love away We shall not want to use again Until Eternity." ~Emily Dickinson
(Emily's poem is on p.50 in "Sweeping up the Heart" by Kevin Henkes, as well as in her poetry collections, of course.)
