Hidden Gift

This is a funny story,
How I found what I call glory.
I have tried all kinds of hobbies.
None of them ever satisfied me.
I did't know I had this gift, until
I used a pen and paper so swift.
I love to write, it makes me feel good.
I like stories that can be understood.
I called my mom who lives out of town
I told her about my gift I had found.
She laughed and told me it was nice.
She also gave me some sound advice.
Months went by and the years too,
I just kept writing like I always do.
My husband had a smile when I came
home one day, he really acted like he
had something to say.
He said I missed a call that he had
took.
He gave me a kiss and said "" They're
going to publish your book.""
I jumped for joy and began to smile,
So thankful for the hidden gift I found.
