Thank You (Dedicated To Jimmy)

Everyday I wait
for you to come back.
It's a simple question of believing
and that is what I lack.

Nobody will ever forget
the 8th wonder of the world,
because from the moment we saw you
our love for you unfurled.

You could crack a joke
about anything,
from breaking an arm
to how you or I sings.

Your wacky laugh,
your trademark wave...
these are all memories
that we'll all save.

We know we'll see you one day,
but that day isn't soon enough.
We try to concentrate,
but it's getting really tough.

What we're feeling now
it's so much worse than pain,
what we're feeling now
we just can't quite explain.

We're all wondering the same thing,
Why'd it have to be you?
But it's useless, really,
because there is nothing we can do.

It was always comforting
to see a smile on your face,
but now you're not there
and nothing will take your place.

'Hillsborough boy is killed,'
that's what the headlines read,
I didn't know those were the words
that i would come to dread,
for it was later that day
that i found out it was you
and I didn't want to believe it
but i knew that it was true.

There was a lot of crying
when i found out that day.
If i could see you just one more time
I'd know exactly what to say,
"I miss you and I love you,
and you don't deserve to die.
If anything you were held back,"
and then I'd simply say "Good-bye."

I'd give you a huge hug,
and as a single tear rolled down my face,
I'd realize,
in my heart, there's now an empty space.

In the beginning,
all I could do was cry,
but it's getting easier
every day that passes by.

Still you died too young
and missed out on what life's all about
but throughout your life
you had not a reason to pout.
You always had a smile on your face,
and in my opinion,
that was the perfect place
because everywhere you went
you spread your happiness
and that will be something
that we will all miss.

There'd be one more thing
I'd want to say as I looked into your eyes
because it's really important
and I want you to realize,

that we never got a chance
to say thanks for all you do,
so here it goes,
we just wanted to say,
THANK YOU!

Scars

Every scar runs deeper than the skin,
Every scar has a story.
It may be nerves running thin
Or a battle from within.
The days last long,
Longer than they should
And the scars never heal,
The scars never heal.
They hold secrets
Only known by those who made them
Like the anger that consumes
Not flesh, but the soul.
Nothing suppresses the fear of death
Except knowing you can control it.
The days last long,
Longer than they should
And the scars never heal,
The scars never heal.
As you age the scars only multiply
Consuming wholly the flesh they cover,
As well as the soul that is you
You become weaker every time a new scar is created
Every scar becomes a trophy.
The pain becomes pleasure
And it no longer hurts
The days last long
Longer than they should
And the scars never heal,
The scars never heal,
The scars become you.
