Lighthouse On the Sea

Be the lighthouse on the sea
Guiding lost souls to come to me
Ponder this through your heart and war
Should I come to knock on your door
I count the hours locked away
And to my hearts contempt I stay
A little line of mine to shine
My own burden to bear..it's mine
Suffering and pain will be your antidote
to the timeless of memories and the most remote
The lighthouse flashes and shines its light
to the edge of the water its beams stray bright
Beware of the chance when you walk in vain
And the souls of your feet, where the sand falls grain by grain
Potential is high when you reach for the bar
hit the ground running and shoot for the stars
Brave is the man who dares to dream high
For the insurmountable courage
of a goal that will never die
Peaks aren't reached by an ephemeral hike
A momentary doubt is a receding climb
Half-hearted attempts won't suffice
Look at the heart and look at the price
Even though you were used and were made a spawn
these words of mine will go on and on
And with my final breath I plea
To be the lighthouse on the sea

Reassurance

Bona fide reassurance to make you mine once more
Was the pledge to offer my life to yours
How could I get us back on the right track
After I made your heart like a giant marble crack

My boundless love was supposed to illuminate
To the deepest walls of your heart
To light even the furthest darkness
Would be a fantastic start

What did I do for you if anything at all
Other than mass time and effort to spend
Only for you to leave me anyway
These stories always have a rotten end

I pardoned then just to let you die
And like a young bird wishing to fly
to spread my wings to take off into the night sky
Without another moment's hesitation I'd try

Nevertheless still I say
to come knock on my door
So when you're lonely or afraid
With open arms you return once more

Train of Thought

I sit in the back of a traveling train
The exit to the left guides me to the thoughts in my brain
So hop on board to take a ride
On the train of thought with me to see what's inside

You might not be prepared for what you see
One image starts a thousand mile journey
Of all the years that pass me by
A thousand miles to go until I die

This train offers not a sunset view
Nor a peek of the world layed out before you
The only thing offered like I said
Are thoughts like à hurricane swirling around in my head

For me it's out of sight out of mind
But on this train I'm surprised by what I find
That being said this train isn't to guide
It's to show you memories I store inside

A penny for your thoughts because your thoughts I want to know
As I continue my life, this train will continue to go
I really want to see all that this life has in store for me
Because there's plenty to miss on a thousand mile journey

Someday the pennies for thoughts shall be no more to spend
And this train ride of mine will come to an end
Enjoyed the ride now I'm ready to go
Laying my head on the ground as I rest my soul.

What the Serpent Severed

I let one man fall
the whole world then falls with me
This will ruin you

What I Said

Don't commit the crime
Hey! I'm not your accomplice
Leave me out of it

Loyal

Here in the coffin my grandfather lies
Through muffled breaths I release my cries
Though inside my heart he never truly dies
I requested a song from the angels in the skies
As the choir of angels in heaven sing
I heard my grandfather's doorbell ring
His precious old wife was still standing there
Emotionally marred she couldn't bear
His death was a reality she couldn't stand
But stands there she for her old man
If she can stand up strong then so can I
As I once said his legacy will never die
As I made my way to the city square
I heard the crying of many people there
A handful of men stood next to his bride
Worthy men of God who stood by his side
The dedication to their fellow man they knew
For even in death, he had the most loyal crew
On horseback we rode to where his coffin layed
And kneeling down to God we prayed
To remember this life for him who gave
Love liberty and carried these to the grave

Drive To Success

Off to the DMV? Yay!! My weekends off to a great start
Where you can hear every burp and smell every fart
If anybody would have mercy on me they'd shoot me
So I wouldn't have to go back to the DMV
Of that place I have yet to find a perk
In and out more like take a day off work
It's hell on earth nothing but stress
Do I hate the DMV? YES
Didn't bring the right paperwork big shock there
My big pleeding eyes were responded to without care
A kid comes in and he starts to bawl
Tempted to bang my head against the wall
Miss please get me in faster...wrong thing to say
Go sit in the chair for the rest of the day
Welp, there goes my pride
I feel like a kid whose forced to stay inside
Despite all that we need the DMV
Make it bearable by having everything ready
