Stuart Chandler Poem
Its My car
Thousands of miles together we travelled
maps then a sat nav journeys unravelled
collected all sorts, even went to the tip
bus into town, no in the car I'll just nip
MOT services tax, insurance as well
paying the bills down to me it all fell
Now at the end the bills just to big
think its all over I have to admit
one last journey together we made
down to the scrapers only I walked away
the end of this tale is not very nice
travelling on roads comes at a price
pounds shillings and pence me it did cost
but for my beautiful car its life was lost...

Stuart Chandler Poem
Where has it gone?
Out in the garden, down by the shed
I read the packet, prepared the bed.
Added some compost, tilled it a bit
even add some genuine horse MUCK
so next on the packet quite clearly it said
sprinkle sparingly go right ahead
cover with soil and water a little
went for the can and gave it a sprinkle
days became weeks but nothing did show
it said on the packet WILL CERTAINTLY GROW
I felt I'd been conned, robbed of my money
adding the effort and time was not funny
I decided to write to the address on the back
explaining quite well plants and the lack
again weeks went by, nothing was heard
It played on my mind, really quite absurd
Then it arrived early one morning
I eaten my toast, jam and was yawning
I opened the mail, including the bills
then was a packet, plain brown, no frills
I tore the top off and looking inside
you will never believe what i had spied
another packet of seeds the same as the last
straight in the bin, had been caught in the past
The moral of this tale is easy to grasp
if you want to grow things in the garden
plant plants and choose seeds as the last
As I go in the shed now I have a small bed
the one that I tilled, full of rhubarb instead
No I don't eat it but its easy to grow
You know what they say about gardening
blooms looking good so its all about show

Stuart Chandler Poem
Each day I come to school, I need and hope to learn.
Giving us your wisdom is how your money’s earned.
It’s you that sows the seed, knowledge it shall grow,
It all goes in my brain, though some of it quite slow.
Each footstep that I take upon this long hard road
has it’s journey eased as you have shared the load.
My thanks and gratitude to you, rarely do I show.
So here is a small gift, just to let you know.
Without your help and guidance
The journey would not start
So thanks to you
From the bottom of my heart.
Most of these "ditties" I write for coasters we sell on Ebay... I love doing it and they do actually sell! I am not sure who is more surprised...lol
Thanks for reading it.

Stuart Chandler Poem
Dad I miss you every day,
Not with sadness may I say.
I’m sad your gone not by my side,
I think it hurts I know I cried.
I miss you most when things go bad
Its when I need your help I feel so sad.
But in my heart you will always be
Just as your love is always for me.
I miss those times oh so much
It must be said you were my crutch.
I lent on you when problems rose
To run away you never choose.
I love you now as I did then
I know my heart will never mend.
I have memories of things we did together
With love in my heart you’ll be forever.

Stuart Chandler Poem
Whats for tea mum
As a child my diet was a thing to behold
whats on my plate was for me I was told
some of it great some bits quite yucky
cover it in sauce get it down in the tummy
Mum was not the best cook in the world
not even our town, street or even our house
if truth were to be told she was a disaster
if it was possible her meals needed a plaster
burn it she would or make it all mushy
gravy with lumps don't mention dumplings
custard was a no no as was baking a cake
in life she was wonderful but cooking not great
I'm very sad that she died many year past
time is a healer coming to terms at last
I miss her each day for her good honest love
but her cooking, well, I'm glad it has passed.

Stuart Chandler Poem
It doesn't matter that you're no longer here
because in my heart you will always be near.
You were the one who taught me to knit
I recall the hours by the fire we would both sit
me by your side sat upon our sofa at home
when we were knitting I was never alone.
You said it would be handy, How did you know?
My kids I now teach as they start to grow
I'm a Mum now to prove that I've grown
The lessons you taught, used on kids of my own
When I look at them now I think of your face
I just wish I could take them round to your place
Mum you have left but only this earth
Because you were my Mum right from my birth
Always I'll love you never far from my heart
My Mum forever with every smile and laugh.
Again this was for a drink coaster, Thanks for reading it

Stuart Chandler Poem
How many legs does a best friend need?
The answer to the question is difficult for me,
Humans have two, no one has three!
Animals have four some insects have eight,
Tying your shoes surely would then make you late!
On reflection I think the best number for sure
Is the ones on my dog, numbering four.
I conclude this because he is honest and true
He will always love me and be friendly to you
Always ready to play or just sit by my side
And out in the car he’ll happily ride
I don’t really care for reptiles and snakes
I’ll stick with my dog, my best friend he makes.
So I am now ready to answer the question above
No need for a pause to think who I love
My best friend who is loyal and true
Sits by my side, as dogs often do
Always keen to please, protect and love
On his four legs he stands miles above…

Stuart Chandler Poem
The road I have travelled, not chosen by me,
Society, education and situation made three
But all is not lost as I still get to smile
wandering through life mile after mile.
I watch other people, doing their thing
I wonder if joy and happiness it does bring?
I guess it's important to all not just me
upon that small thought it's time for my tea.
And biscuits of course...

Stuart Chandler Poem
As a pup you arrived, full of mischief and fun,
A bundle of joy, my friend, always ready to run.
Hours we spent with toys and just walking,
Sometimes I’m sure I could hear you talking.
My best friend and companion, always at my side
Even when it got sticky you’d never hide.
To protect and to love me, your job I assume
You’d brighten each day coming into the room.
Now you are gone a big space in my heart
I see you everywhere, even though we’re apart
I miss the times when there was just you and I
I will even admit that when I think of you I cry
Your life was so special to me and our family
The hurt will not mend, my heart broken, sadly
I am just so pleased we were friends for so long
I miss you and love you even knowing you’re gone
One day my time to join you will surely come
then again with my pup I’ll laugh, smile & run.

Stuart Chandler Poem
My life has been special in so many ways
Among them there has been wonderful days
A few I remember, although they are gone
I listed here in this, my life’s song
Stay true to yourself, do others no harm
Right from the start, a baby in arms
Each life is so special, a gift for us all
Spend each day wisely, try not to fall
My parents they loved me. Every day
Their love was so special it kept me safe
They gave me my direction showed me the way
I found my vocation, worked hard every day
Earning a living, respect and position did I gain
Rose up in the company, proud of my name
Each life is so special, a gift for us all
Spend each day wisely, try not to fall
As I grew older company I really needed
school it was done exams all completed
Friends I had many. Most they were great
One became special, got right in my heart
One day we both stood, promised not to part
Our marriage was blessed, everyone came
Each life is so special, a gift for us all
Spend each day wisely, try not to fall
As a couple we went on trying our best
Then one day a baby. In our own little nest
So special a gift we created from love
All we had to do now, was help you grow up
twenty plus years have gone by the way
in my heart the two of you stay
Each life is so special, a gift for us all
Spend each day wisely, try not to fall
Many years passed you both not by my side
filled with shame I suppose I did hide
I look back now at the things that I've done
battles I fought lost a few but mostly won
but inside my heart the thing I want most
is to rid my mind of this terrible ghost
Each life is so special, a gift for us all
Spend each day wisely, try not to fall
Maybe one day we will meet all three, a feat
I look forward to that day to make me complete
then my life will be full, forget money and cars
without this repair on my heart I will still be last
So in my prayers and heart you have always been
all i want is for you both by my eyes to be seen.
