My Prayer For Unity

Dear Lord, You created us in your likeness,
And You hoped that someday we follow in your greatness.
But we turned away from peace and happiness,
And forgot Your teachings about oneness.

Lord, we pray that you use your powerful hand,
To touch our hearts and give peace in our land.
We ask of nothing that is grand,
Because it is only through Your love that we can find the comfort that we want.

Please give us love for each other Dear Lord,
So that we find unity in the midst of different religions,
No matter what race and culture we may be,
It shall only be the love and peace we will see.

A Love Like No Other

There are so many love stories to tell,
Like love at first sight, where boy meets girl and they just both fell,
Or maybe about long friendships that ended so much sweeter,
Because the boy and girl ended up with each other.

But what can we say of our love story,
That created this “you and me”?
Was ours some fantasy?
Like "Alice in Wonderland" with a talking bunny?

I guess our love is more like a pair of slippers,
Where one cannot be useful without the other,
Just by being in each other’s company,
We always had fun and everything else is happy.

We made sure that each day of our lives is sunny,
Even if outside our window the days are just stormy.
On such days we snuggle together and watch Star Movies on TV,
Complaining later on and change the channel to either CNN, Fox or BBC.

We wake up each morning with smiles in our faces,
And ends the night with a kiss and then turn our backs to each other.
Am I pissed at that way you treat me at night?
Of course, not! Because that’s the only way I can hold your butt.

Our love has stood all these years,
Loving each other, with nothing to fear.
We have our brief days of melancholy but long days of funny,
And that completes the days of our lives with no complexity.

I love you, honey
For all the unforgettable joys in life you gave me.
No more words to describe our love further,
Because I found that love like no other.

Take My Hand

Take my hand. Guide me to where you are.
I want to feel your heart beating even if I know you are already far.
Will you still know me? Or even remember me?
I pray to God to give you that memory.

I look up at the beautiful sky.
I know I can reach it if only I can fly.
So, I lie in wait and can’t help but cry.
Even in my sorrow, I can’t ask God why.

I know I will no longer see you, no matter how hard I try
So please God send my message to him up high.
Tell him wherever he may be,
His memories will always be with me.

Remembering My Youth

I remember when I was thirteen, I just love tea sets and Raggedy Ann,
Not to forget my imaginary friends to join me at breakfast time.
I ran after butterflies in the heat of the sun, ignoring shouts from my mom,
All what mattered was just to have some fun!

I remember the late night phone calls with my best pal,
To talk about the cute boys in our class.
How I giggled without end when I answered a question on a slum note,
Asking about who was my dreamboat?

Oh, how crazy were the days of old,
When I was just carefree and not so bold.
Then I noticed my teenage years are almost over,
A new page in my life covers the other.

I know that in a few years things will unfold,
I need to be ready, lo and behold!
All my mother’s words will be my guide forever,
As she reminded me to take care of my future like a four-leaf clover.

She said that not all things that glitter are gold,
Use my judgment as I was told.
Create a future that I can be proud of,
And be a role model to the young and the old.

When Happy Left the Room

It was just another day when shouts and rants are all over
All you can do to your ears is give them some cover.
Then you open your eyes and all you can see are all just clutter,
With a mindless laugh you know that they will fill your little hamper.

You simply pick the soiled clothes and stare at the lace tied in that shoe,
Held it tightly in your bosom and sighed with sadness at how they grew,
Does it mean adieu?
To the memories you can no longer undo?

Was it really time to say goodbye to the little feet that marched through the door?
And tell yourself that there will now be silence on your old floor.
Then you picked up your dusty broom
And finally declare happy left the room.

Growing Old

The world had grown old,
Like some stale bread forgotten in the mold,
Time passed by, like an athlete on the run,
I noticed that the brightness of the sun was finally gone.
Was it already night that I can no longer see the light?
Or was it just too late now,
That I didn’t notice life just took its last bow.

Saying Farewell On Your Birthday

Had you been here, we will still celebrate your birthday in simplicity.
Your preference to just drive around the area and look for a place that is not so busy.
Then you will tell me that what is important is that we are together.
And we have love for each other.

How I shall miss this special day,
Because even if it was your birthday,
You would always wake me up early,
To remind me that my kiss will make you happy.

Thank you so much honey
For sharing your life with me.
It was cut short so untimely,
But our love will be there until eternity.
