This Heart Deserves

This heart cannot stand to be ignored;
I no longer want your pity.
The lack of empathy you threw at me—
accusations that never touched my skin—
cut so deep.

Tormented by memories,
things you said and did,
echoes and vibrations of emotions
I still shed like autumn leaves,
fallen.

A perfect pattern of scattered memories
trails behind me.
This bare and barren tree
is rooted so deeply.

It is but the tip,
the edges where the branches meet the sky,
of the deep soul you crushed;
your words repeatedly tore me apart.

No more will I allow you
to sit upon these branches,
enjoying the fresh air
and the magnificent view.
These branches have space only for those
who cherish—
for those who deserve my love.

My broken, beating heart will mend.
I no longer stand for your pity;
I no longer beg for your pardon.

This heart deserves gentleness;
this heart deserves true love.

Good Morning, Love

Good Morning, love
I miss you. How are you feeling?
Does your world look bright?
I caught myself thinking about you,
and I can’t wait to hold you tight.

Good Morning, love
Can I get you some tea?
It will ease the anxiety rushing through your veins,
slow the screams of sirens,
and calm the reckless train.

Good Morning, love
Can I hold you for a minute?
Wrap you in love where time stands still,
while the world keeps spinning
and people keep dreaming.

Good Morning, love
I am here to listen, I’m here to serve.
Your beating heart, your existence,
is my air, my need to breathe.
Without your joy, my world feels incomplete.

Good Morning, love

A Knight Beside Me

I love the way he wants me.
He kisses my lips as if it’s the last time he’ll taste me,
like the last drop of water on a hot summer’s day.
His thirst is never quenched.

Dazed and confused, I emerge from a wonderland,
unsure of where or what or why.
Enveloped in his world,
I no longer know where I end and he begins.

He looks at me in ways I’ve only dreamed of,
seeing me for me—
all the flaws, the freckles, the faults—
and still, he comes back for more.

God, I love this man,
who speaks words that make my heart race in ways I’ve never felt before.
He makes my body shiver at his gentle touch,
a heart of gold, mind so pure, so complex.

My hero, my knight in shining armour, ready for war.
Ready to face the battles I fight within me,
with me. He stands tall,
waiting patiently,
ready.

Emotions Running Wild

Silent confessions
of things we don’t mention;
my emotions run wild.

Mediocre possessions
with damning silent confessions;
his emotions ran wild.

Is it mere reflections
of the things we never mentioned?
Our emotions are running wild.

Ocean of Emotions

Drive into the ocean
of my emotions.
Tuck in, like a Sunday roast,
gorged and full; you are satisfied.

I resemble Christmas Day,
gifts a dozen, wrapped elegantly—
silver and red, ribbons and bows.
I keep giving and giving and giving.

A smile delicately laced across my face,
you never question the silver plate,
abundant with treasure;
you take and take and take.

Rip Kiwi

Pulling together the pieces
Our broken hearts lay bare
A needle and thread is what we need
To rescue what is left, we share

The constant tears steam forth
Memories of years gone by
Finally you lay to rest
We all get our final goodbye

Unexpected Happiness

You make me happy,
A joy I've never known before—
A blissful love for life,
In you, I've found my home.

Unexpected love,
The best kind to discover,
It catches me by surprise,
With no doubt in my mind.

To begin a life with you,
Is all I wish to share.
Yet I scare myself endlessly,
Sabotaging what seems so fair.

This time, I pray it's different.
Let me wander through this uncharted land,
Eager for more yet weary of the outcome,
Captivated by love’s command.

You Think You Know Me

You think you know me—
a river that runs deep.
I am an ocean, you fool,
a sailor’s retreat.

You think you know me;
I’ll let you in on this:
you only know an iota;
I am pure bliss.

You think you know me
by the light of the moon;
we needed more time—
you left too soon.

You think you know me;
I laugh; you don’t.
Our fun was but a second;
you bailed; now run.

Moment Everlasting

Note: My 2am Ramblings

Why do I do this to myself,
Torn and tortured to the core?
Bound in promises of lovers,
Yet I'm always hoping for more.

Please don’t leave so soon;
I need you a little closer.
When you go, it feels so final—
Stay with me a moment longer.

This love, just a fleeting instant,
A flicker in the darkest night,
A bright and steady tower
Guiding lost souls toward the light.

A lover’s moment, everlasting,
One I long will never end,
A beauty pure and tender—
A dream the heavens send.

Old Habits

You invalidated my feelings,
My emotions are real, true to the bone.
I feel things you only wish to feel,
A relationship isn’t just deals and stones.

You say I overthink everything,
Overthinking might be a blessing and a curse.
I dissect your every single move,
I swear my head might just burst.

You don’t see what I see,
The potential we could reach.
I need you to see my vision too,
Or we’ll be lessons hard to teach.

Old patterns, old behaviours,
Habits we have to leave behind.
My heart adores you deeply,
But do you see the worth I find?

We survived another raw moment,
Another time, things got real.
This isn’t a fantasy partnership,
We’re human, and love is our only deal.

I love you, sweetheart, with almost all I am.
Break me, and it’s done.
I’ll walk away,
To keep at least a piece of myself safe, one by one.
