Morning Or Night

Torn between the morning and the night
Torn between what's wrong and what's right
Faced with a decision that changes everything
How do I let go of my past perception?
Guilt and condemnation gnaw at me
With every thought, I think of change
Can't see the future or what it holds
The light where is the light to guide me
Fueled with turmoil am I hitting a wall
I'm so afraid I'm going to fail in life
Lord do I have a false perception
Clues I look for in everything that I do
I must not be ready to go forward
Due to the lost feeling in my soul
But I can feel the change headed my way
By my sense of lost direction of my reflection
There are two canvases in the dark
You know it's there but what to paint
Something different or stay the same
Is it morning or night

Timeline

Tell me when
I will see
My great departure
Even if I'm not prepared
Long have I waited
In great despair
Not knowing Lord
Everything I will go through

Dad

Dad I know sometimes you feel kicked to the curb
Mother most of the time seems to get more precedence
But without you we would not be here
Without you we could not see structure and courage to be who we are
You had a strong hand that corrected us when we were wrong
Even after we tried to lie our way out of it
Changes come and I know you have dealt with a lot
But words cannot express the compassion that you have shared with everyone
By those projects we finished and didn't complete
I laugh when I see myself doing something you do
When I was younger I didn't think you understood
As I got older I repeated somethings as you taught me and critiqued others
Now I just try to be more understanding as you are to me
Life is but a blink of an eye but your legacy will live on
By all that you have instilled in me as I pass it on Dad
