Dad

Dad I know sometimes you feel kicked to the curb Mother most of the time seems to get more precedence But without you we would not be here Without you we could not see structure and courage to be who we are You had a strong hand that corrected us when we were wrong Even after we tried to lie our way out of it Changes come and I know you have dealt with a lot But words cannot express the compassion that you have shared with everyone By those projects we finished and didn't complete I laugh when I see myself doing something you do When I was younger I didn't think you understood As I got older I repeated somethings as you taught me and critiqued others Now I just try to be more understanding as you are to me Life is but a blink of an eye but your legacy will live on By all that you have instilled in me as I pass it on Dad
