Another Love

Beautifully strung words by Tom Odell-

I wanna take you somewhere so you know I care
But it's so cold and I don't know where
I brought you daffodils in a pretty string
But they won't flower like they did last spring

And I wanna kiss you, make you feel alright
I'm just so tired to share my nights
I wanna cry and I wanna love
But all my tears have been used up

On another love, another love
All my tears have been used up

And if somebody hurts you, I wanna fight
But my hand's been broken, one too many times
So I'll use my voice, I'll be so ing rude
Words they always win, but I know I'll lose

And I'd sing a song, that'd be just ours
But I sang 'em all to another heart
And I wanna cry, I wanna learn to love
But all my tears have been used up

On another love, another love
All my tears have been used up
On another love, another love
All my tears have been used up

I wanna sing a song, that'd be just ours
But I sang 'em all to another heart
And I wanna cry, I wanna fall in love
But all my tears have been used up...........

The Voice of a Refugee

The voice of a refugee

What happened to this world?
So beautiful in the past
The rivers lakes and oceans
And fragrance of the grass

And now the land is barron
It's no more fertile
I hope that the plants grow
Once again for a while

What happened to our society
So generous in the past
Now there is terror
Scaring the mass
Aware of all around me
but one thing I could not stand
It was worse than I could see

Women being beaten up
Children badly tortured
Level of terror rising up
No one's being nurtured

I want to change this
And bring back humility
Return the nature's bliss
And bring back prosperity

Then I realised that
I should be the change I want to see
To bring back that ball and bat
Instead of guns and artillery

I want to live freely
And not be so confined
It's not easy being a refugee
No house to live and place to find

It's my request to the world
To please help me
To be the change I want to see
And again be free

The Earth

The earth it's so strange
This world out of my range
I hope it'll change
I do hope it'll change

What use of taking oath
When it can't be fulfilled
This money will be useless
when everyone'll be killed

The 9/11 attack
How can we ever forget?
It's the dreadful day all of us
Very sadly regret

The Peshawar attack
Blew up a million hearts
They pierced children one by one
As if playing darts

I never understood
What these people want
Because all they really do is
Mercilessly taunt

The 13/11 of Paris
So many people died
And I can't even wonder
Beneath my feet they lied

They just rub their knife
And never hesitate
They easily take our precious life
And never make it late

And in those last moments
I say a prayer for my loved ones
Oh God! please have mercy
And take away those guns

I Will Love You

i will love you
wherever you go, wherever you are
i will love you
with the light of the pole star

I will never forget,
all the lovely days we spent,
the blooming flowers and squirrels
and the honeysuckle scent....

The afternoons on the bank
with the sun shining down
and the morning as it sank
in the forests' crown

The shimmering night
the twinkling stars
shining bright
revealing their scars

the memories are stuck with me
with the desire of telling you
that we'll be like the sky and sea
and have a rendezvous.......

The Night Before

Amidst the moonlit night,
we sit hand in hand...
Your eyes give away your plight,
In a silent world, we stand...

Your charming face looks grim,
and why would it not?
In a sea of emotions, we swim
our seeds of the future rot...

It's the night before you deploy,
into a land unknown...
You'll be joining your convoy,
after leaving us all alone...

Our mouths don't utter a word,
our eyes are enough to convey..
To each other, the love in our heart,
which we wished to say..

And then the morning comes,
but the sun doesn't seem that bright...
Even the sky has seemed to have understood,
the intensity of our plight...

How ironic as you walk away
the radio plays our special song...
Now my words can't make you stay,
After all, it would only be wrong...

It's been a few months since you left,
The world seems to fall, back in place...
Everything seems a little bereft,
All i need is your embrace...

I'm lying in the wake of the dying sun,
Waiting for you,
To return...

The Rain of Nostalgia

What a pleasant time of the year!
For showers of blessings have come
A glorious time for others,
But painful for some..

The children are out already,
Leaping in puddles of joy
I just sit, and watch them
Remembering myself as a boy..

Every drop reminds me,
Of all my happy days
But now no-one listens,
They're off on their own ways...

My mind is now wandering..
Down the memory lane
As i stand with my umbrella,
In this never ending rain...

Bleeding Pen

Today this pen shan't write but bleed
For my heart and soul have open scars
This pressure from within, to succeed
Has me thinking if I'm behind the bars

Caged till I win, caged till I conquer
There seems to be no other way
Every night seems a few minutes longer
As I reflect and plan for another day

How wonderful it would be
To live a life without regrets
When my mind and heart both agree
and stop singing melancholic duets

This isn't me, just can't be me
I never saw this version of myself before
My thoughts feel heavy, they want to be free
I find it hard to shut this door

This pen's ink will soon run out
But this poetess' wounds shall keep dripping
My notepad says it can hear me shout
As the pages of my life keep flipping....

A Different Kind of Love

I was quite young when I saw him for the first time...
I admit I was unsure about it...
But...
It was the first time I had felt such a connection...
a longing...a necessity...
I approached him nervously...
I still wasn't convinced!
But he held me in his arms...and promised to keep me safe...
I felt strangely attracted...it wasn't something I had experienced before!
Although our meeting was short...he didn't leave my mind...
I searched for him day and night!....
I was restless...and couldn't wait to meet him again...
He had promised me..that he will come...
and he did!
My happiness knew no bounds!
And when I saw him...he was more fascinating than before!
He loomed large on the tarmac...
And told me to accompany him...in the journey through the skies!
On wings of love we soared...
He asked me to promise him my devotion...
I did...
And then..again flew off my dreamliner...into the skies...
Waiting for me to someday sit in the cockpit...
And see the world through his eyes...
And that's how I fell in love...
with aviation!

What Is Love

What is love
The best feeling in this world
only the fortunate get
The people who don't,
suffer from regret

Sometimes it's sweet,
sometimes it's sour,
For a moment seems unending,
 but fades the next hour

In reality, it's fragile
But is said to be strong
It's delicate like petals,
but sweet like a cuckoo's song...

It enlivens one soul,
but deceives the other
It rejuvenates one
but kills another...

Sometimes it makes us cry,
Sometimes it makes us smile
It's a time when the brain,
stops working for a while...

But when this feeling flees...
The world seems to end.
You look at the broken pieces,
impossible to mend...

Your heart once alive,
now seems to be dead...
It shakes a person in and out
Just like the verses said...

It leaves you in a state
where hate crashes with love...
Your mind's a war sky...
nestling a dove...

Your brain curses you,
and says, "no one's there!"
But your heart secretly whispers...
"Don't worry, they still care.."

Sleeping Through a Tough Night

You know that the night is tough
When your heart feels distress
Self-consolation is never enough
And hence writes a poetess-

"You know you can't sleep
When you're awake in someone's mind
anxiety, worry and feelings deep
Leaving peace behind"

How easy it would be
if you could take me in your arms
And lovingly assure thee
of no impending harm

My eyes won't shut
They yearn to see you smile
For, my mind knows that you're hurt,
Every second is a trial

My heart's beating for you,
As i'm thinking of your plight
The dark sky keeps me company
While I sleep through this tough night.
