Sex

Same technique
Different person
It's not the same
Where are your kisses?
I can't find them anymore

Do you fantasize when you finger paint?
Do you write my name with your tongue?

Do you paint my curves
My dimples

On a different canvas

Who do you see when you close your eyes?

Advice To Those Who Plan To Love the Broken: Don'T

And I lay flat with him,
as he took the stars out of is pocket
and placed them back in the sky;
lighting my whole world again
like you once did.

but you taught me better
than to love someone who
takes my soul swimming in depths
where my mental sanity drowns.

and I'll teach all those after me:
Do not stay if the glass is shattered,
you will bleed out before picking up all the pieces.

I Fell In Love In New York

I had to shoot my head up to see the top of his
He towered over me

He did not speak much
but he was never quiet

I often got lost in him
and all the adventure he offered

On the way to his home
I knew I only needed a one way ticket

His eyes gleamed throughout the night
for he did not sleep

I Had a Realization That Came From a Relationship

I want to flourish into a flower

blossoming into things I could only dream of.

My skin is made of rose petals,

my vibrant color pleases my mind

and my soul.

I can only grow from here.

He liked to pick my petals.

He did not water me.

My partner must be nourishing my roots

not

dragging me by the branch

or holding me back from my full potential.

Addiction

Addiction isn't that which you picked up on the way to work
But it is.

Addiction is the McDonalds on the way to school that you stop at even though last night you were sweating from chest pain.

Addiction can make you feel like you're making excuses for yourself
Because you know you could go without that milkshake

Addiction is loving something more than you love being alive
But what's an extra $2.19, 400 calories to a fat girl

I Miss Your Skin

?
I miss you everyday
Your conversations were like a second skin I wore
protecting me from the cruelty of mankind
with your sweet promises
of a brighter future

together we were supposed to build that future
feed the hungry and house the homeless
feed them love and compassion
spoon sanguinity into empty mouths
leave a taste sweet as honey
-I assume sanguinity tastes like honey

we would feed the hungry
a big bite of hope
we would house the homeless
in a building of
dreams and love

But you left me
my heart hungry and wondering
which house I could call home
now that I was alone

Genesis Part A

In the beginning God created the heavens and earth.
Genesis 1 is a lengthy poem we collectively have chosen to read as a story.
It's validity is, en masse, inconclusive.
What is the strength of your faith if it cannot withstand scrutiny though?

I wondered when beauty was created.

When did God create the elevated sensation of euphoria
that dawns upon my chest when I look up to the sky
and see a parade of hues that could not exist on this planet?
Explaining why they end where heaven
                                                         changes its name to land.

The earth is not worthy.

The rose melts into the peaches
that in turn soften into a yellow mist
           that hides behind the horizon.

A performance replicated and rehearsed
over
         and over
                     and over
again by terrestrials but

we are not God.

Beauty was created on the second day.

Santiago Y Juan Carlos

I know rich men who have lived under bridges
and poor men that have never starved a day in their life.

Conozco a hombres ricos que han vivido bajo puentes
y a hombres pobres que nunca han pasado hambre un dia en sus vidas

Necesito que sepas
I need you to know

Sus suenos no estan destinados a permanecer entre las horas de 11pm a 8am
Your dreams are not meant to remain between the hours of 11pm to 8am

Creceran si los riegas
They will grow if you water them

Si se riega usted mismo
if you water yourself
