Addiction

Addiction isn't that which you picked up on the way to work But it is. Addiction is the McDonalds on the way to school that you stop at even though last night you were sweating from chest pain. Addiction can make you feel like you're making excuses for yourself Because you know you could go without that milkshake Addiction is loving something more than you love being alive But what's an extra $2.19, 400 calories to a fat girl

Boy this is angst, sarcasm, self-loathing and seeking all bundled into one therapeutic journal-like spill. It all came thru, and I wanted to get my soap box, cause its all I got! The one who views herself as fat must ask that question of her viewing self, and I wish her only well on her journal's journey. Your emotional pouring got me. Love yourself, keep penning and take my wishes for the best ... CayCay

Addictions are horrible things to beat, aren't they? And even worse if they are something you can never do without, because well, you HAVE to eat, and McDonalds IS far too cheap... Great poem.
