Pressure

Pressure

by Brooke Bowers

They say I
Can handle it,

They say I'm
Strong,

They want me
To act my age,

When they don't
Understand,

The how much
Pressure can one take,

Before they snap
with no help around.

Free Thinker

Plan before you do,
That was the message,
No matter what you did,
You planned before you did,

Get an education,
That was the expectation,
If you were going to be something,
You needed and education,

Judge don't trust,
Judge your moves,
Because if you don't someone will,

When was the last time,
Someone let you decide what your life
Should be,

When was the last time,
Everyone accepted your thoughts
Regardless of statics or race,

In this world you did as told,
The same job for every person,
The same thought 'till none remain,

Theories and projects
Programming your mined with same knowledge
As the many generations before,

A government runs your life,
Down to the food on your plate,

When was the last time,
Someone revolted,

When was the last time,
Someone spoke freely,

When was the last time,
A child had a free thought

And grew to be a free thinker

Snowflakes and Snowman

Snowflakes and Snowman

By Brooke Bowers

As I
Fell to the
Frosted ground,

A rush
Of excitement filled
My heart,

To be
Rolled into a
Masterpiece,

With eyes
Of buttons and
A nose of carrot,

With Ears
Of Potatoes and
A smile of raisins,

From snowflakes
To snowman.

Poppies

Poppies

By Brooke Bowers

We blow on
The fields darken and
Red,

With middles as
Black as the midnight
Sky,

Our petals are
Red as the blood
Of man,

We mark the
Places on the earth
And in the sky,

Bare us on
Your chest as a
Symbol,

For those who
Are far away from
Your reach,

Keep us close
Don’t forget us on
Remembrance Day.

Raining fire

Raining fire

By Brooke Bowers

As it came down
My fears gave way,

They say that I
Have to do this,

What if I can't
What if I let go,

As it rains fire
I don't feel a thing,

The pressure is to great
The coldness makes me falter,

How could I give in
How could I let it slip,

As it rains fire
And I burn in to nothing else,

To those who are faltering
Remember that there are many
Like you.

When The Wind Blows

When The Wind Blows

By Brooke Bowers

When the wind blows
I will be safe
In your arms,

When the wind blows
I will be inside
With a drink,

When the wind blows
I will be under
The covers with you,

When the wind blows
I will find another
Love,

When the wind blows
I will leave you
In flames.

Stand Alone

Stand alone

13/11/2016

Stand alone
For your right,

Stand alone
With all your might,

Stand alone
For your voice,

Stand alone
Because it’s right,

Stand alone
For those in need,

Stand alone
And lend a hand,

Stand alone
Through all the pressures,

Stand alone
For whom you are.

Dance World

Dance World

By Brooke Bowers

Dance world dance
For there’s music
In the air,

Dance world dance
For there’s rhythm
In the ground,

Dance world dance
For there’s a beat
In your blood,

Dance world dance
For there’s love
Heart.

One Voice

 One Voice

by Brooke Bowers

I am one voice
but I can make a change,

On a world far
beyond reason and light,

I speak to the suffering
seas and the sick land,

I cure the weak
and mend the broken,

I will be the voice
for the mute,

and I will be
the legs for the lame,

I am one voice
but I can change the world.

Fear

Fear

By Brooke Bowers

You cause fear
Where ever you go,

From screams
To dares ,

From Names
To rules ,

You rule the school
As the biggest guy
And the toughest,

You rule by control
Step out of line and
Your dead meat,

Welcome to the
World of fear.
