Cowgirl

Cowgirl

You came into my life
Like a wild whirlwind
Capturing my complete attention
We immediately became Lover and Friends

Catching me off guard
But plain for me to see
There was no doubt
You’re the one for me

Not knowing if you felt the same
I was trying to take things slow
And before I realized it
My feelings began to show

No matter where I went
My “Cowgirl” was talked about
And it became clear in my heart
I loved you without a doubt

Now I pray our love is strong enough
To see us through until the end
And I will always have you
As my Lover, Wife and Friend

Call of Duty

“Call of Duty”
By Terry Knight

From a C-130
We bail into the night
A covert mission
Prepared to fight

Space so dark
Hand can’t be seen in front of you face
Unaware of your landing
Hearts begin to race

If it the jungle? Is it the dessert
Will we land I the sea
No one knows exactly
Which it will be

Time is essential
You must not miss a beat
Off by even seconds
Death you soon may meet

So why even risk it
Is it worth it all?
Freedom is the answer
Duty is the call

The Stream of Life

The Stream of Life

As we wade into “The stream of life”
Together we enter the waters edge
Not sure of the things we may face
And of the future that lies ahead

Still onward we go into the slow-moving flow
We set sail without any doubts
For we know exactly what will carry us through
You see: that what love is all about

Though the water speeds up and rapids we face
We enter without any fear
For we both know God’s watching over us
And for us he truly cares

Going over the falls we hold on tight
Fit together like a hand in a glove
Finding ourselves at the bottom
Floating in a pool of love

No Deeper Love

” No Deeper Love”
By Terry Knight

Your love is deeper than I can imagine
Its genuine to the core
Its total satisfaction
I could ask for nothing more

It’s what everyone is looking for
But rarely comes along
Most will only hear of it
In words of a song

A hidden treasure I have found
A love that is true
God has given me a blessing
Wrapped up in you

Honor and Haunted

Why am I constantly haunted
Of imagines in the past
Will I ever leave then behind me?
How long will it last?

It wasn’t a planned vacation
Nor a stroll in the park
But a duty to my country
That leaves me in the dark

Many want to talk about it
But they will never know
Until they suit up and take that leap
And into battle we will go

There’s really no honor in killing
It’s a job that has to be done
And when the smoke all clears
No one’s really won

Still things just can’t be settled
And agreements can’t be made
Until blood is senselessly shed
And soldiers in the grave are laid

Population control
Or other governments schemes
Is war just a tool
Or is that the way is seams

Still why is it those in charges
That start all this mess
Never in the trenches
Actually, facing death

An old saying that sums it all up
It’s easier said than done
You see war is easily talked about
But in the trenches the battle are won

The Resone Why

I was asked to make a list
Of fifty reasons, why, I love you
I sat and thought it out
It was such an easy task to do

Coming up with things like your beauty
Those seductive eyes and silky hair
And the things we have in common
Such as the goals and plans we share

Your intelligence completely overwhelms me
A woman full of spirit and drive
Always will to go the extra mile
To keep our love alive

Always open to suggestions
Taking time to see things through
Dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s
Is just something you naturally do

Bing attentive to my wants and needs
Constantly alert and full of charm
Never slowing down or saying a thing
You think would cause me harm

You satisfy me completely
In each and everyway
You’re the answer God has given
To the prayers that I pray

Not to mention the way you cook and clean
And how you take care of our home
The fact that I totally trust you
Although for now you’re all alone

There’s a confidence about you
You’re the one in whom I confide
I feel I can pour my heart out to you
For from you I have nothing to hide

My lover soulmate my best friend
For eternity, you are my life
We are the two souls that became one
In the union of a man and his wife

You ask for fifty reasons
But one will have to do
The reason is this simple
I love you because your you

Never Be Afraid To Dream

Where do we begin our search?
In life where we belong
Do we have a dream?
Or settle for whatever comes along

Is these something of interest
That you love to do
The answer is simple
It’s up to you to choose

So never be afraid to dream
For out of such fragile things
There could come a miracle
Its really no insane

Dreams are what we’re made of
Our desires deep within
It’s in our hearts we find our dreams
And where our lives begin

Ring of Love

Ring of love

This ring that I send you
May not be made of gold
But it holds all of my love
And a future of joys untold

So wear it proud and always know
The God matched us from above
And never doubt in your heart
Forever you have my love

Death

Death is forever present
It lingers in the air
It holds no prejudice
Because it everywhere

Age if makes no difference
Time & place it always comes
Its accuracy
It always wins

There’s so many hats it can wear
Coming so many different shapes & sizes
There’s such a wide variety
The way one may die

A bomb strapped to a woman
Or wrapped around a child
Are just a couple of ways
Of human suicide

A bullet in the head
Or stepping on a mine
It doesn’t matter
Death is right on time

There’s no need to worry
For when the time comes
Death will be left stand
And that battle won

Who Is a Man

Who is a Man

Does the true character of a man
Always reflect in the thing we do
Or is it in the heart that we find
Our identities to be true

Consider the saying, “we always fall short”
And there’s none perfect, no not one
Do you ask Gods forgiveness for you wrongs?
Or from your wrongs do you run

For it’s in the heart what matters
No matter what you’ve done
And the promise of forgiveness
We have through Gods son
