Shelbee Denson Poem
I watch her.
I watch her smile,
I watch her laugh,
I watch her cry,
I watch her dance
I watch her sing
I watch her fall, and pick herself up with grace
She sees herself
She sees herself frown
She sees herself age
She sees herself make mistakes
She sees herself as small
She sees herself as afraid
She sees herself low and worthless
I know her
I know her, like the back of my hand,
I know her like a classic novel,
I know she hates the girl on the other side of the mirror
And she knows I love her, so at times she loathes me too
My lover, is a butterfly
Constantly comparing herself to the flowers
Unable to see the beauty of her wings
My lover is senseless when it comes to herself
And I do believe that's the one thing we have in common
My lover is mine
Maybe a horror film to herself, and everybody else
But a treasure to me

Shelbee Denson Poem
I don't blame you for being foolish
They say love makes you do stupid things
The exact reason why I'm still here
I'm walking around ghoulish
While you sway to the same song he sings
And it seems his wrongs disappear
I'm the shoulder you lean on
The one who dries your eyes
The one you call in need
I should've been gone
But instead I pray to the skies
I guess god don't hear me plead
He ran off with your heart
So I gave you mine
Hoping you'd come to realization
It should've been us from the start
But there couldn't of been a clearer sign
That "us" was just my imagination
It's fine though
The feelings she'll never know
Because if staying by her means I have to pretend
Then give me a script and cast me as the 'forever friend'
