Choose the Dreams

I've traveled far and wide in search of dreams
Sought a life to make them happen
Wherin love and life could be as one
Floating o'er the sea of life
Shielded from pain
Held aloft in a chariot of clouds
To caress the dreams.
But the tour of life
Has many turns
And the pain continues/
Random are the playing fields
Wherein lies the fray.
Dreams can easily be dashed
Ruptired on life's craggy shores.
That is so unlike my dreams
So wispy in the clouds.
Reality can be cold
At times unbearable.
All the more the dreams are needed
For to live a life devoid of dreams
I would rather not have lived at all

Love Triumphs

Against odds however great
Love will always triumph.
Falsely some attribute this
To the conquest of the flesh.
Yet it is never that
But is rather the supremacy of the spirit.
Far above the flesh does it soar
Freeing man from all woes of the earth.
For love has no boundaries
Nor has it limits
Nor does it wallow in the daily tedium.
It is like the welcoming tulips of the spring
Leaping through the vestiges of winter
Impatient to welcome the start of warmth.
For it is one's spirit that is real.
Love will illuminate a path to the very soul
For against odds however great
Love will always triumph.

Of Dreams

Dreams are meaningful
They tap the inner resources of the soul.
They can help or hurt.
If daily one can focus on the present
Today becomes an opportunity
Things to accomplish
New vistas to be explored
Possibly a reaching out to another person.
And thus try not to dwell on the past
Misfortunes that may have occurred.
Bad luck with an endeavor,
Disappointment with a friend.
The result could be to dream in the present
For life is short at best
Not to be squandered
In reminiscences of the past.
Rather it is hoped
That these dreams take us forward
Replete with new opportunities
And challenges to be met.

Love the Children

Jesus called a child to him and said:
"And who shall receive one such child in my name receives me."
And so love the children
Love also the grandchildren.
For in ways life is a great circle.
We arrive at the start of the arc
And we are children.
Thus begins the journey of life
As if ascending a rainbow.
It should not come as a surprise
That as old ones we can communicate
So well and so clearly with the young.
Thus now the circle is complete
And we return to our very beginnings.
As we are in unison with the children.
Our hands entwine
In understanding of love
Having completed life's orbit.
