Choose the Dreams

I've traveled far and wide in search of dreams
Sought a life to make them happen
Wherin love and life could be as one
Floating o'er the sea of life
Shielded from pain
Held aloft in a chariot of clouds
To caress the dreams.
But the tour of life
Has many turns
And the pain continues/
Random are the playing fields
Wherein lies the fray.
Dreams can easily be dashed
Ruptired on life's craggy shores.
That is so unlike my dreams
So wispy in the clouds.
Reality can be cold
At times unbearable.
All the more the dreams are needed
For to live a life devoid of dreams
I would rather not have lived at all
