Judas Iscariot

They asked: “Why did you seal His death with a kiss?
What did He ever do to you?”
“Well the truth is, is that I was sent
To make sure Master did what He was supposed to do

I made sure that He would save the world
Through the Crucifixion, through His blood
It broke my heart to see him die in pain
If I could’ve saved Him, believe me I would”

They then asked: “But you sold Him for thirty pieces.
Shouldn’t the King be worth more?
But I laughed and said, “Ah ha you’re wrong
For I threw the thirty pieces on the floor

The Master was ‘betrayed’ for free
I could not put a price on His head
I could not bear the thought of knowing
My Teacher would soon be dead”

The last question they asked was:
“Do you think you’ll go to Heaven after what you’ve done?”
I thought for a while and answered, “I hope so
For I was God’s chosen one.”

They smiled as they departed
I prayed they finally understood me
And guilt finally devoured my soul
And I hung myself on a tree

The Last Poem

As we gather here today, it’s hard not to shed a tear.
For today may mark the end to all the memories we’d get to share.
A life without you guys is one I don’t wish to see.
For each and every one of you had become a part of me.

My heart aches with sadness. I just can’t seem to understand why
The many hellos from over the years had to be crushed by one final goodbye.
The pain is overbearing. I just wish for it to end.
I just wish that we could go back to the good old days my friend.

I just wish that we had more time to cherish these moments together.
I just wish that this chapter was one that lasted forever.
There were times I wished for today to come. I didn’t think it through.
Who would’ve ever thought that letting go would be so hard to do?

And now a part of me is missing. This family is no more.
A “Happy ever After” together will vanish once we exit through those doors.
And so as we venture on our own and attempt to make our dreams come true,
I do not wish to say “goodbye”, but to rather say “see you later” to all of you

A Letter To My Forever

It hurts me to know you’re here today to say your final goodbye
You’ll never know how I wish to wipe the tears from your eyes
Today proves forever’s temporary, I just wish we didn’t end so soon
I just wish I could’ve prolonged the hours before God called me home
I would’ve spent my final hours with you and done everything to make you laugh
I would’ve shared with you my secrets and held you tight as the night passed
And before I left to meet my Father, I would’ve given you a final kiss
For you brought me closest to feeling true undying bliss
Now as I watch you cry, my heart fills with immense pain
And I know I never want to see you cry again
I knew you would be sad, but I guess it was for the best
But just know that your love made me feel forever blessed
And as they lay me to rest I hope that you will find peace
I know that God will place someone in your life and one day you’ll be free
And no matter who may walk into your life, or who and you may end up together
Just know that I’ll always love you the most and you’ll be my forever.
