A Letter To My Forever

It hurts me to know you’re here today to say your final goodbye You’ll never know how I wish to wipe the tears from your eyes Today proves forever’s temporary, I just wish we didn’t end so soon I just wish I could’ve prolonged the hours before God called me home I would’ve spent my final hours with you and done everything to make you laugh I would’ve shared with you my secrets and held you tight as the night passed And before I left to meet my Father, I would’ve given you a final kiss For you brought me closest to feeling true undying bliss Now as I watch you cry, my heart fills with immense pain And I know I never want to see you cry again I knew you would be sad, but I guess it was for the best But just know that your love made me feel forever blessed And as they lay me to rest I hope that you will find peace I know that God will place someone in your life and one day you’ll be free And no matter who may walk into your life, or who and you may end up together Just know that I’ll always love you the most and you’ll be my forever.
