Making the Leap

I stop, look around and listen
Not to the sounds that permeate through the subtle abyss that engulfed me
No, those sounds have become dull.
Instead I listen to my sounds
That which I feel stirring from the base of my core
The rhythm and beat that drives my soul to action
That is the sound I can hear
All I hear is wailing
Disappointed
Ashamed
Where are you taking us?
How can this be?
To have achieved so little?
Can, aren’t, you thinking of these questions!?
Why do I have to be the rational one, while you spend your days with your head in the clouds
So I’ve decided to stop, look around, and listen
It is the least I can do.
I feel bad
I know that he knows my potential
Which, I guess, means that I know my potential
So why do I piss it away?
Why do any of us piss away all that we are given
What will make you stop and listen?
How can we hear that driving force inside of us?
To get it to stop fighting and have it start leading, guiding us towards our goal
We all have it in us
That grinding anxious deeply rooted pang of guilt and self consciousness
It exists in all of us
Some hear it louder than others, some have learned to ignore it completely
I, however, am still getting to know my voice
But once I do, I know I’ll be ready to make the leap
Will you?
