The Ethical Dilemma

Ever came across a situation when your heart and your mind are in a state of conflict?
Your heart speaks one thing but your mind is in stark contrast!
Well!
Yes I have.
And not just once but rather frequently.

To lie is unethical and wrong.
But if your lying saves a life, is it still wrong?
We all say NO.
But then, it is still unethical.

To conform your existence in today's world, you often need to be cunning and get your job done.
But then what was the point of listening to those moral science lectures back in school!!
I guess that was just to establish the difference between what's ethical and what's not.

You lie for your company and justify it by saying that your lie ensures your bread and butter.
You break a rule and justify it by mentioning that well no one cares and that rules are meant to be broken.
You stare a girl and call her sexy and then justify it by telling that it's all cool and she won't mind.
You ill-treat your domestic help just because they are poor and justify it by blaming the trend of our society for it.

All these instances seem so normal to us just because we take them as a given thing.
But do we ever realize that all these might seem right to us on one front but they are wrong on the ethical front.

The cord of our heart always strikes this dilemma but we always suppress it.
Just a note of caution!!!
You might be a righteous person but not an ethical one.
Because ethics are absolute and cannot be tampered with.
And the irony is that for many of us 'All that's right is also ethical'.

Just give it a thought for you have time now for self-analysis.

Happy Reading!!!

And Then She Left Me

In that dusky evening,
She sat there on a lonely bench.
I called for her but all in vain,
For she was pondering over something unusual.
As I had come there on her behest,
I went up to her and sat besides her.
She had a doleful face,
And her eyes were all filled with tears.
With a heavy heart I asked her the cause of her sorrow,
My heart completely sank when she told me
That she was in the final stage of her blood cancer.
I somehow gathered my wits and tried to console her,
She laid her head on my lap,
And told me that we had very less time to spend together.
That very moment I decided to recall to her,
All the sweet memories we had since we first met.
She lay there in silence with an amiable smile on her lips.
After about an hour or so I looked at her back again,
And it was then that I suddenly realised that she had left me alone forever..

From the Rail Track

The hoot of the train was shrill enough to bring me back to my consciousness,
With eyes half shut I could see the sunrise albeit my body was in oppressive soreness.
Thankful was I that the night was over,
And a ray of hope was now surely closer.
For I was made to flung a night before,
Next to a track that was never explored.
Till last night I had never thought that the body I reserved,
Would soon fall in jeopardy and be set free only when it was thrice served.
I somehow managed to stand up and look around,
But the only thing I could see was a local rail over the ground.
As the train approached me a passenger looked at me and gave a shout,
She made the train stop, lifted me up in the coach and gave an expression of doubt.
I narrated to her the last night's account,
And her eyes were wet when the train began to mount.
She gave me a seat next to a window,
And all I had was a gesture of gratitude to show.
We passed the plains, the rivers and hills,
Looking at which my mind started to chill.
As the night started to fall,
My heart was filled with fear of all.
But I consoled myself with the sight of the window,
Besides which I was sitting now and focusing on a meadow.

The Foul Bud

In the garden of time,
there blossoms a flower which is draped like a bride all in white.
Amidst the prismatic shimmer of the field,
this flower is the unchaste Dianna.
Deceiving the rationale of moral beliefs,
it betrays the human that gives it a glance.
It spreads its tender arms and wraps around the neck like a serpent coiled over its prey,
Lovers get lured by its charm as it pools them inside its cup.

And then floral beauty is nowhere to be found,
Perfidy takes control.
Day gets converted into dark,
All pay the toll.
Wrath and Animosity become guests alike,
Remorse drives its chariot drifting the Juno swans aside.
Apologies are less accepted,
And forgetting one another becomes the only way.
The foul play then comes to rest
As they have the beloved to detest.

You are warned not to stare at it
It's the flower, the flower of Infidelity.
