I Miss the Stars

I miss the stars,
I miss how they shined,
So bright up in the sky,

I miss the stars,
And how things used to be,

I miss the stars,
And their effect over me.

I Can Remember

I remember all the fun that we had,
I remember all the times we cried,
Together,
I remember all our talks,

I remember the sound of your voice,
The way that you made me feel,
Special,
I remember the way you could make me smile.

I remember you,
No day goes by that I don’t remember you.
I still feel you presence,
But all that I have left from you,
Is what I can remember.

My First Love

I will love again.
Maybe not as intensely,
Not as hard.

But I will love again.
And that is what keeps me grounded.
What keeps me going…
I know that the way I loved you,
Is a once in a lifetime kind of thing.

But I will eventually love again.
Even though there is nothing like first love.

We Lost Each Other

Days passed by,
I had no news.
Then in a blink of an eye,
It became weeks, months, and years.
And that’s when I realized..
We failed.
We failed when we said we would keep in touch.
We lost contact.
Connection.
We lost each other.
And the only ones to blame were ourselves.

Heart of Stone

Some time ago I met a man
That lived in an ancient land
He resided in a castle.
Away from everyone,
That could turn his heart into stone.

Some say he was unsociable,
Others that he was lone.
Just because he lived all alone.

He had his heart broken so many times,
By those he loved the most.
But the truth is,
He was just a man,
protecting his heart,
from turning into stone.

Summer Storm

I looked out the window as the night fell.
The shadows of buildings reflected on the ground,
Reminded me of the place I lived— a true, concrete forest.
It left me craving for fresh air, so I sat on the balcony,
Overseeing the city lights.
Seeing those shining little windows in the distance made me think of life,
And I lost track of time.
When I realized the skies had turned starless;
I could no longer see the shadows.
The wind, blowing between the buildings,
Sounded like the angels were singing for all that were awaken,
In that stormy summer night.
A loud rumble made me feel uneasy.
I wondered what was going on, but soon the droplets of water started to fall from the sky giving me the answer I was looking for.
The thunder, roaring as fierce as it could and the lightning, lighting up the sky every couple of seconds.
There was something about the force of this storm.
I got reminded of the hope and strength I have inside myself to make new beginnings,
Even when the previous day had destroyed all of my new possibilities.
The rain came unexpectedly and showered my soul.
It renewed my strength,
It game me hope.

I'M Afraid

I'm afraid,
Of falling for someone,
Again.
I'm afraid,
Of getting hurt,
I’m afraid,
Of letting myself down,
And not being able to get myself back up.

I Regret

I regret,
Letting people tell me who I was,
When in reality I was the one that had tell them,
Who I really was, and still am.
I regret,
All the chances I didn't’t take,
By fear of someday regretting them.
I regret,
Fighting with the people I cared the most,
And later having too much pride to reconcile.
I regret,
Having fear of the future,
Simply because back there It was still unknown.
But what I don’t regret,
Is learning my lesson,
Is getting my heart torn apart,
And mending it back all by myself,
Because now I know that I can do better.

His Words

I feel in love with his words,
Everything he said made sense in that moment of pain,
They gave me comfort,
I could relate to them,
They were bandages to my wounds,
I could finally live without the pain of heartbreak,
I did not fall in love with him,
I feel in love with his words,
Now I know why it didn't work.

Our Sun

Our love was like the sun.
It shinned for everyone to see.
Sometimes shadows tried to steal our light,
But they were nothing but shadows.
We would always come out alright.

Once more problems started,
Thunder storming us apart.
Our days became cloudy.
But we came through.
As we would always do.

Since even when we couldn’t see,
The light,
Because we were focused on the clouds,
The rain.

Deep inside of us we knew
Our light,
It was still there,
Our sun,
Our love
