A Lonely Walk

Alone I walked on a littered part
A companion I seek on my journey
Saluting me was a weird man afar
Sitting inside an abandoned caravan
Looking tattered in a torn sleeveless
Haaa! Haaa! Haaa! His laughter continues…
He was eating from a barbaric piece of cake
Hey brother! Whispered the lunatic
At this point restless became my mind
And then I ran into a mud shelter to hide
A deep breath of relief I took and sat
Resting my back on the primitive cracked wall
Only to hear a strange voice echoing again
Just like the sound of many water dropping
I stood up but behold my legs are heavy
At this time I was weak and weary
I couldn’t help but to give up
For the evil lurked in the darkness
But when I was about to scream!
Mama woke me up from sleep
For I have been dreaming a dream

Survivors

It happened in a second
In the twinkling of an eye
Our vessel was driven unto rock
By a strong southerly wind
And so we lost power in the sea
This led to the shipwreck
Though many on board could swim
But only a few could made it
For many was drowned
When we came to the shore
We found a nearby Island
A place of mystery
As silent as the grave
No home was occupied
Every house had been quitted
We saw a street called Lonely
And so we trod slowly
For a while, more than a mile
We came to a mansion
It captured our attention
A house build with cedar
Maple trees and cinnamon flowers
We took bold steps to enter
Through the gigantic golden door
But the house was dark and empty
One could barely see through the foggy
Except the Inscription on the wall
“Trapped! Welcome to Hell”
Everyone starts to shiver
Suddenly we heard the door slams
Just like the thunder struck
Closely we held each other in panic
Hoping it would ease our fright
But the door slams continues…
With a thick loud voice echoing
“You are doomed’’ he says
With a creepy sound like that of frog
But when he was about to come forth
An angel appeared and struck him dead
Follow me and live! He said
He led us through a part
That leads to some villages
Go! Preach the gospel
You are the chosen ones
Survivors to tell the story

Irony of Life

Longing to replace my old shoe
And then I met him without leg
Crazy I was for sunglasses
Lately I saw a beggar he has no eye
You are wealthy and not even healthy
Shame on you, ho! Unto your wealth
A living dog betters a dead lion
Great men fall mostly to women
Biblical Samson suits the example
Six feet under the ground we walk
There ends our struggle and bustle
An irony of life
And life’s irony

Asabi

My eyes are weak
But it wouldn’t close
Only when it beholds you
Oh! Of special birth “ASABI”
Are you heading to the stream?
If so I can help to lift the water pot
Upon your head

My eyes are weak
But it wouldn’t close
Only when it beholds you
Oh! Of special birth “ASABI”
Are you heading to the farm?
If so I can take the cutlass
And you take the hoe

My eyes are weak
But it wouldn’t close
Only when it beholds you
Oh! Of special birth “ASABI”
Are you heading to the market?
If so I can take the yam
And you take the bush meat

Real Love

Even in my adversity
Darling! You show compatibility
You are fabulous and comely
How ravishing you are honey!
You have extricate me from loneliness
In your presence I have no more worries
When your eye glow
My heart seems to blow
Infallible damsel of our time you are
Indeed a freebie from God

Soldiers

In their hand it lies
If we live or die tomorrow
Many away from home
Living the love ones alone
And so they cross the miles
Even when it cost their lives
When it’s windy and stormy
No slumbering or slummy
For soldiers are not dummy
Through the tick and thin
They keep moving to win
Hurray! Joy and victory
More we are than conqueror

Knowledge

Only secret could be found
And a treasure discovered
But many mysteries are untold
Yet by no man, or people of old
Neither the oracle nor the gods
My worries, by them could not be solved
So I journeyed a journey to a far land

Though I sojourned in the city of knowledge
Seeking to find it for decades and ages
It is hard to get not even in the college
It may not be found in the people of age
Not freebie from a friend or heritage
Sometime, can be found in a cage

On my way back coming home
An old man I found sitting alone
Beside him I sat for a while
Just to rest before I continue the mile
But as people passes by none seems to care
None want to be friends for he was a low life
I honored him with a piece of bread
We ate, took a wine in the same cup

My hand he held and said…
Come! Follow me! Follow my path!
I will show you the secret of the world
I am the infinite Deity
I am knowledge
I am God

All These

My fame worldwide
My house palace - like
My money spread about in banks
My friends are high calibers
My street named after me
My city, I am the mayor
My picture on adverts
My cars are latest series
My job is with His Excellency
Someday I will lose all to the grim reaper

Success

For decades I longed to see you
Oh! You accomplishment of aim
You are the fulfillment of purpose
And the result of one’s artfulness
With patience choose you your friends
Hard work and determination you are
Great men of all time you made them all
The sheriff, the mayor the king and queen
You are the reason of their pride
When they succeed they became successful
And now they have seen success

Kukurukuku

KUKURUKUKU!!!
He would say KUKURUKU
Every new day he wakes
KUKURUKUKU!!!
In my yard there was a cock
KUKURUKUKU!!!
He used to be my timekeeper
KUKURUKUKU!!!
Whenever he crows KUKURUKU
It means the night is far spent
KUKURUKUKU!!!
Wake up from your sleep
KUKURUKUKU!!!
For it’s time to go to the farm
KUKURUKUKU!!
He crows KUKURUKUKU…
As every birds fly out from their nest
