Daughter of An Army Soldier

I am a daughter of an army soldier,
I am stronger and bolder than all other children.
I have seen fathers give their children goodbye kisses every time,
And promising that they will come back sometime.
My father has been serving in the army for 18 glorious years,
Every time he used to miss my birthday party, I held back my tears.
When on leave he used to come home,
In my mind a fervent excitement used to roam,
He had a saga of army experiences,
And I used to tell him about my Sports Day performances.
I never understood why he used to get upset on a layer of dust on his uniform,
As it was just a piece of green cloth covered with medals and stars.
I used to wonder on what was the difference between my school uniform and his uniform?
For him it was not just a uniform,
It was his pride and honor.
It made me believe how much he loved his uniform.
Whenever he goes back after leave,
A handful of sorrow sinks in my heart.
Mom always says that brave girls don’t cry
And these motivational words lift my spirit high,
As we sighed and said goodbye.
Life may not be easy for a daughter of an army soldier,
But I have now understood that,
Life is not a journey,
The journey is life.

A Soldier

I am a soldier born to die,
Whenever I die, don’t you cry.
Put my medals on my chest,
And tell my mom I did my best.
Tell my father that I won’t be a fuss to him now,
Tell him to keep my mom happy, don’t ask me how.
Tell my sister to shine like a star that twinkles.
Don’t cry or else you would get wrinkles.
Tell my brother to save for me a chocolate box,
And to take care of my dogs,
Tell my daughter I said hi,
And to fly high like a beautiful butterfly.
Tell my wife that she is my life,
In her heart I will always be alive.
I know my family would be proud.
Later cover me with a white shroud.
Tell my family I hate tears,
And to conquer all their fears.

My Super Mom

My Mom is as sweet as a chocolate cake,
There is nothing that she can’t bake.
She gets up every morning at six,
And at night she watches movies on Pix.
She can fix any matter,
As easy as fixing a cakes batter.
Baking is what she is fond of,
And can make anything with her magic wand.
When I am ill she takes care of me,
She can find my missing socks pair.
Her caressing touch is as soft as a cloud,
A Mom like you makes me feel proud.
She is different from all other Moms,
She is the one with whom I can share my secrets from.

Fun To Be a Girl

I am an ordinary girl,
But for my parents, I am a fascinating pearl.
I get stuck in many situations,
But tackle out of them with my own solutions.
I get irritated when I have to comb my un kept hair
Or to find my socks pair.
For me, making new friends is a big deal,
What if they don't understand how I feel?
I love reading books; especially” The Fault in Our Stars”
But many think that the book is just bizarre.
I often cry a lot,
Various fears of mine I have fought.
I hate doing those pathetic math’s sums,
Which make my mind go numb.
A little messy is my life,
Greater heights for which I have to strive.
Life sometimes gives you a lil' swirl,
But it's always fun to be a girl.

My Dreams

Today I had a beautiful dream,
Full of fairies all dancing in glee.
Little elves making tasty chocolates and cream,
Colorful flowers fluttering in the breeze.
Little birds chirping around,
And little boys’ n girls playing on the ground.
It was just like heaven all mesmerizing
And it was really very surprising.

29 Nov 2016 the Day Nagrota Bled

Nagrota station is as beautiful as one can imagine,
the varied birds seen here are the source of attraction.
But alas, this divine scenery has turned into a dreadful ornery.
A place where the cuckoo bird sang a melodious song,
but now the crow caws a grief stricken song.
Flowers wilted after seeing the rain of pain,
birds gave up singing songs in disdain.
The encounter that changed many lives,
the whole day all we could was wait and sigh.
29th November was the worst day for the entire Nagrota station,
when the family members of the soldiers panicked with tension.
Our soldiers were so selfless, so brave,
for hundreds of families they saved.
But not all endings are a happy one,
Many lost their Father and Sons,
whom they hadn’t seen for months.
The pain could only be conveyed through tears,
what turn now life would take, they feared.
Soldiers defend their country and protect their motherland
because they don’t want other country ruling their land.
You take out faults in them,
But you don’t realize you won’t be here without them.
For how long will the soldiers keep their lives on stake for our sake,
Stop this bloodshed before it’s too late.
