What If

Demetrius Ogletree
December 15th, 2015

What if, a question asked by God himself.
An illusion to a time never known.
A question that continues to haunt.
Filled with regrets and remorse.
It can stop the clock from passing.
Allowing doubt into your mind.
All what if can see is the wrongs
and not the rights.
So don't ask yourself what if, just do.
Believe in you and be without fear.
Forget about what if.
It is just two words.

This poem is free verse. I prefer free verse because it allows me to just put my thoughts out there without being restricted by the limitations that structure impose. This poem is supposed to give the reader a sense of freedom, it initiates the idea that one does not have to doubt themselves, life is just better when you go out and do.
