A Summer Poem

In solitary bloom --
Mid afternoon that day
I stood at the doorway
For a moment in time
I was a small child
Enraptured by wild
Flowers and gentle breeze
Serenity of these
Watered blueberries and
Green grass with white fences
Tickling my senses

Sanctuary

That place that wreaks havoc
cigarette boxes lying on the floor
Drowning in angst - your place
call it home, call it sanctuary
Call it whatever -
tell it to the bartender
Who's pouring another
whiskey in your honor
You're the one that's
on top tonight - lovin' life
With your ripped denim jeans
and smoke-stained leather
Pour me another! you say
so you could get back on
The motorcycle to heaven
and never slow down

If This Is Love

Music comes to life
The rain is lovely
Dreams are in reach
When I think of you

The skies open up
My heart bursts
With the sunlight
When I think of you

If this is love
I'll take it
Over anything
When I think of you

Because the
seasons beauty
have meaning
When I think of you

Because time
and space
are unlimited
When I think of you

Magic In Autumn

November of that year when
Ocean tides came rolling then
Venting in my soul and heart
Eyeing inspiring art
Memorable it was that night
Bringing out passion to light
Enveloped by Autumn leaves
Remembered who that believes

Pure

Snow crystals on the
Lakes and trees immerse the pure
Love of white tigers

One Hour

1. The hourglass
        is flowing
    As the wine
        makes a splash
    In her glass
        She's crying
              Silently
1. The hourglass
      is flowing
    A user
      is knocked out
    Underneath
        the highway
            Immobile
1. The hourglass
      is flowing
    Elderly
      man sits there
    By himself
      waiting for
            Visitors
1. The hourglass
      is flowing
    A teacher
      yells at the
  Class for their
      lack of work
          Apathy
1. The hourglass
      is flowing
    Passiveness
      Nothingness
    consumes our
        Existence

Wishing Well

Dandelions flow
Over the river
Throw a penny in
The wishing well of dreams
Life is cheap as angels sleep

Kick the stone, kick the wall
Push to live, this is life
Poppy fields and sunsets
Bring up the ghost of
Christmas past and you

Buried now, is this it?
Complete darkness ahead
Wake me up, this can't be
Wishing well of dreams
Has me hooked on you

The Pariah S

Quietly, she sits in the corner looking in
reflecting on how it all went down
Perplexed by her identity, her mind, her muse-
her soul purpose in this wasted life

She thought too deeply - for too long
about why her life is this way
Lack of drive, enthusiasm
    for the institutions she's in

Wake up! she says, but she was wide awake-
it was those that were succumbing to the
Institutions that were in a deep trance

The Other Side of You

stillwater
    runs deep
    clear as can be
                        but
the music---
is where I find
                                        you
numb
numb to truth
numb to love
numb to all
                          things
                                        you
a kiss
is where
    you'll see
                    the other side
                                of you.

Fuel

Ascending
      to the stars
On this rocket
       my eyes are
gazing into yours
       As natural
as the water
       On this rocket
I'm drinking
       it all in
Doesn't matter
       where we go
Because your eyes
       are the water
To my soul
       And the fuel
To this rocket
