We Walked Away

its been a long journey and we have come a long way
moved far apart, the busy life always holding sway
the little world we had within ourselves
gradually destroyed by the real world's harsh ways
we fought, we ventured, we won, we lost,
we waited and we drifted apart
amidst the cold winds the cherished beliefs did sway
the wounds taped over, the tears long dry
on a face marked with fake smiles,
we learned to compromise;
cold friendships forged, need of the hour met
companions many, confidant none
the eyes searching for the other
the solace amidst all the chaos
the sanity among the insane
reminiscing the days of carefree banter,
secrets shared, duels fought, each having the other's back
we both climbed from the opposite ends,
no longer in touch, consigned to mere thoughts
finally reaching the top, scarred and bruised,
hesitant to speak, scared to acknowledge the other
was it us that changed? Was it the world?
An involuntary smile said it all..
the small world still intact , thoughts still pristine
the far fetched dreams intact , words flowed freely,
childlike laughter echoed,
lauding the other's success,
shedding silent tears at the pain the other went through
A lifetime lived in an hour,
a kingdom won amidst the rubble
A single thought crossing the mind
what if we had faced it all together?
What if only we had believed?
What if we had not walked away?

True Friends

As I think of our friendship, I begin to see
Mere words can't describe what you mean to me.
When this cold, hard world has me lonesome and blue
I look up to see my angel, my sweet angel, you.
You dry the tears that fall from my eyes.
You bring me sunshine to brighten my sky.
You rescue me when I'm scared and alone
And take my hand to lead me home.
No matter the miles that keep us apart
We're always together in each other's hearts
Sometimes we take for granted, I fear,
The ones who are so close and dear.
We get so caught up in life and things we must do
Sometimes we forget to stop and say I love you.
If ever you felt I forgot or didn't care
Let me stop right now, my true feelings I'll share.
You're the sun in my sky, the bed where I lie.
You're the home where I'm safe, the field where I play.
You're everything I am, everything I do

Old Scars Healed

Remember the first time I started to trust you.
It was the strangest feeling I had yet to give.
I told you my secrets, my past and my fears.
And that was all i had to share.
You never left me like I thought you would.
Standing steadfast through the distant brewing storms,
You always listened and knew what to say
Knew when to give a hug When I was having a bad day.
I used to listen, when you said you would always be there,
Barely registering the words spoken, believing it to be all a jest.
My courage did falter but never your faith.
Today the scars heal, i begin anew, new me, new life, and happiness with you.The ghosts finally laid to rest.
I sit and think about all the times we spend together,
the silly smiles and the secret gestures that bamboozles others,
now i know you'd last through any weather.
It will never be too late for us to be.
Finally i believe you will stand by me through it all,
The glorious smile still resplendent.
As you so rightly said, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Together we cross over to the spot where the sun shines bright.
the spotlight shines and the actor takes the stage ready to excel.
A fresh act begins of a new play.
A glorious chapter in a yet to be written essay.

True Love

remember the last time we met,
you and i,
mere fledglings, naive and innocent,
with big dreams, conquerors of the world were we,
ambitions flying high, separate worlds but a common goal
slowly we ventured forth and drifted apart
pursuing false dreams, rarely sharing our tales,
compromising without remorse,
never looking back,
nor thinking about the shoulder we could always bank upon,
in the past not one moment passed without sharing each other's thoughts
you grew cold, i grew colder,
the experiences we silently suffered,
dreams crushed, innocence shattered,
each betrayal snuffing out the light,
turning the fire within ice cold,
yet never did we reach out,
silently pursuing the others progress,
its your dream, mines shattered, you can still rise high we thought
As the pain increased so did the will, the satisfaction that at least someone has achieved what they meant to do
little did we realize the two broken souls each as tormented as the other
clamoured out for a release,
a chance meeting changed it all,
we both realized for a fleeing instance we both were meant to be
the dreams shared, the world together,
you change me for the better.. with you i am me..
and only then did we confess

The World Scorns

A battle rages within,
Silent thoughts behind a hidden veil,
an ice prince some say,
lacking emotions, a player some term
he is an enigma the world doesn't understand
awkward,anti-social, a fly in the wall,
one who is rarely missed,
a friend to few...an advisor to all
hardly speaking, his silence intrigues all
A troubled soul few understand
fighting the ghosts of his past
forever conscious, his failings his battle scars
his betrayals forced handcuffs
he is forever a prisoner
staring out of the moonlight window
to a world born free
yearning to be carefree
but careful not to let the guard slip
he mocks the world, its ways, its bashfulness
on guard forever, he watches like a hawk
The silent assassin his code name
a guardian angel to troubled souls,
careful not to get too close
a scornful smile his trademark
an ice prince is he?
or is he the dark lord?
The versions are many,
the truth no one knows
questions still unanswered
What is the reason behind the silence?
what's the story behind the mocking smile?
was it a love that left?
was it a betrayal so strong?
is he an actor...or a player.. as the world terms?
or is he the one who they simply fail to understand?
behind the veil who's the one?
is it a heart broken?
the blunt knife stabbed through and through
till the wounds stopped bleeding and the blood turned to ice?
all the emotions sucked out....a living zombie
the mystery shall never be solved
its a secret he shall carry to his grave
Forced to go into a shell
He breaks all shackles
single mindedly pursuing the dream
The next battle brings more challenges
the enemy is strong, his tricks many
he is marked to lose,
a tragic hero tale consigned to be his fate
his only solace, the daunting challenge ahead
He bears it with a smile
the insults, the doubts,
he seems to cherish it all
he's the warrior prince,
the one marked out
sweet pain and soothing grief
his only faithful companions
He is a freak, a misfit, a joke
The world jeers and mocks
His serene composure irritates them
and forces them to scorn
Stoically he bears it all,
pitying their shallowness,
their lack of insight humours him,
its not them he wishes to fight
his demons are much hideous
his battles far personal
with pity in his heart
he forgives them all.
Few can ever see
the true countenance behind the mask
the emotions and the pain surging within
his eyes let loose rivulets,
his soul forever tormented,
his only wish to lie undisturbed
his only question
will his heart ever rest in peace??

In Search of Destiny

Hidden in silent dark…
Where brightness could never mark….
Opening of eyes
'n it makes a beautiful spark…
hidden in white pure veil…
seems near but not in reach…
Stars are my destiny….
Can’t stay…. Can’t delay…
My path is calling me again…
For sometimes I stay in Your Inn…
Your hospitality I never will Forget
'n the pains you gave
never can be Forgiven…
But you are lost too,
'n so I cant trust the directions you gave
Now I have to go back on same…
in search of stars 'n beautiful Plains…
In the shelter of milky ways…
With my destiny in my hand…
Am ready to face…What in the future lays.. !

Soulmates

Der r no gold medals I HV earned
no road to my name
no park gate in my honour...
A true friend HV I only been
a friend in need indeed ...
Been der done dat
stood by u through thick and thin...
Walk 4 steps in my shoes
and pass d judgement
A traitor u r
a friend u cud b never
Trust broken faith shattered
Revenge is d only solace
but heart bleeds and mind forgives
Ur mention bring forth sweet memories
A dream lived, a world forgotten
Lips sealed, eyes dry ,the secret safe
U will stay forever safe in my heart
The image untainted, the veil safe
U r me and I am u
Soulmates, inseparable and forever apart

Will Turn You Back

Thought I would send you back and never look back
Thought i would burn you out of the memories
and scatter the ashes in the wind to fly
Could do nothing and only the pain remained
On those thin lips of your's there are so many promises
But, I should turn you back again...
And Let the forbidden love be kept enclosed...
Hundreds of springs have passed away and I have kept my sleep away
A happy person would never understand the pain of a "poet"
Dreams give dawn to false hopes
I have kept them enclosed, hidden deep within,
I won't come out shining like a knight in a golden armour
It would have been good if we could hold back time
But the journey slowly comes to an end
The sky is getting broken, dawn peeps through the night
I am strong still
May you also gain the strength
Inside those brooding eyes so many stories lie
But, I should still turn you back...
let the flame flicker and die
its only the roads that are barren for travellers to tread upon while the side walks have always been lined with trees

The Lost Child

I do not understand this child
Though we have lived together now for years
I know nothing of him,
The seed i spent or sown it where
The land is his and none of mine?
We speak like strangers
What he loves i cannot share
There's no sign of understanding in the air
Silence surrounds us.
I would have him progidal,
return to his father's house
The home he knew
Rather than see him make and move his world
I would forgive him too,
Shaping a new love,
We both must live on the same land.
He speaks and shouts, i cannot understand myself.
Why anger grows from grief.
We each put out an empty hand,
Longing for something to forgive.
