I Will Succeed

I have made a change in my life
in this kind of world it's hard to survive
but I have went back to the vicious ways
I would like to make a big change
and stay focused on the right things to make life a good life
On the other hand I'm very wise
l'm going to keep my eyes open where, what, when, how, everywhere
I choose to do that because I care
My message to teenagers and grownups is to keep
a good life style and go the right way
Follow that step each and every day
I've had good time, I've had bad times
Laughs, and cries
again, in this kind of world, it's hard to survive
I don't care what people say
l live my life and they live their life
From this day on, I always hold my head up high
and never down to the seeds
I am somebody and I will succeed.

She's Exceptional

She's beautiful
She’s young
She’s smart
She’s experienced
She’s spiritual
She’s loving
She’s caring
She’s brave
She’s exceptional

But, she suffers
She suffers physically
Sharp knee pains,
Headaches,
Bone aches.
All in which are trying to get the best of her
Trying to weaken her
Trying to take over her body.
But she won’t allow it
She’s strong
She’s faithful
She has her prayers stored up
She’s exceptional

She knows that God can do anything
He can even take away the pain she has in her body
He can heal her.
She’s already healed
She’s healed in the eyesight of God
She’s exceptional
She’s my Mother.

As I Watch

I sit here and I watch
I watch as if I had a sharp eye like a Crow
The cold, brisk air pushes against me as I write
There's boys on the basketball court
Boys on the football field, girls chatting,
two coaches painting
I'm in another world
At least that's what it feels like

Society, so much to do, so much to see
I sit and think, is this how it's meant to be
As I write, I just watch and.... watch
There's a lady cutting grass
I even see some kids just arriving to school

The sun has came out now
Beautiful, and as bright as can be
Peace and calmness is what I'm feeling
I'm also feeling like I'm alone
I'm in another world

I sit and watch
As I write, I can feel the numbness in my leg
But, I still sit and watch
I have joy and peace within myself
Of course I do, I'm smiling
Smiling at everything that surrounds me

There's a plane flying, cars on the highway, kids playing
You would think it's very loud and noisy
But,it's not, there's silence.
There's silence within me.

I watch as if I had a sharp eye like a Crow
God's beautiful creations and nature
That's what I see
They're staring at me right in the face
They're waiting on me to explore.

Where I'M From

I am from the Holy
From the bible and the small but unique church
I am from the three storied building on decent street
I am from the daisies but mixed slightly with cactus
I'm from faith and be a leader

I am from Rosetta and James
I am from good hair and the coca cola shape
From "Go do this, go do that"
Come right back and stay prayerful
I'm from, "He's blessed me
Whether it's big or small" but with great meaning

I'm from Florida, born in O.T.
Fried chicken and homemade beef stew
From the gash my sister got from playing
To the sprang ankle my brother got while playing b-ball
Sitting in the living room are three special albums
Albums of memories and special events of course
Photos of beautiful faces

Some of who are barely seen
Then those who are gone with the Lord
I am from those moments
All in which are leading me to the path of my dreams
Leading me with a sense of mind
to search and not be blind.

Heart Broken

At first my heart thought right
I felt you were the one
You told me things I wanted to hear
Made me feel no fear
In my heart, you were that unique someone
Your appearance, your mind
I thought you'll be by my side
Was it all a lie?
As soon as I began to trust, you betrayed
You took a huge piece out of my heart
Left me feeling as if I was played
Something important, that was so valuable
Not physically, but mentally
Those pictures were life long memories
My heart is broken
Because of your lies, and unfaithfulness, I'm awaken
Several nights I'm sad and alone
Wondering, is it because of your betrayal, or you're gone
Why me?
Is seems as if, when something I love, it slips away
In the beginning of our relationship, I felt that way
I have forgave you, but not necessarily forgot
I try hard to move on
But a huge obstacle seems to be in my way,
I will hold on, and I know that God's
with me each and everyday.
Sometimes I wonder if
I'll ever get over you
It seems so hard
But I will, because of all
the things you put me through
I sit here all alone
and think about you as I write,
but I realize it's not meant to be
No existence, of you and me.
Heartbroken, sometimes shown
Faithfully, someone will come
in my life who'll
respect me, be truthful, and love me
unlike you, who couldn't see.

Haters

Does Haters make you mad
There's a certain limit, you get angry or sad
Your thoughts begin to shrivel up
Like leaves all brown and dried
Really you're tired and frustrated inside!

Haters don't have anything else to do
They concentrate only on you
Their criticizers, miserable, and jealous
Most of them are just careless
Me, do I have Haters, I don't know
They don't scare me, they're like the wind
when it slightly blow
Haters, Haters, Haters

Vietnam

Asia's most spectacular country
Vietnam, Vietnam
The beautiful sight, Asia's prettiest one
The rivers, the land, the war
The Vietnamese went up and beyond,so far
Vietnam, an independent country
To others, like Cambodians they were their glory
To the U.S. Vietnamese wasn't favored
We were accused, hated, and many killed
But, the U.S. continued to follow God's will
If possible, our freedom would be taken
By the tough Vietnames, but shaken
We battled many years
Ending with several Americans in tears
You put us through torture
But it turns out, you were the failure
Physically, you won the fight
Mentally, we gained respect and our rights
Vietnam, Vietnam

Who Am I

Who am I
As I look into the sky
One day I'm quiet, and this harmless person
The next day I'm loud, is it because I'm hurting
Deep, Deep down inside
I'm like an angel
Sometimes I don't think before I speak
Why can't I use my keenness everyday throughout the week
Very often, it's like I forget who I am
Is this me?
But when I try to be myself, some people seem to
abuse their authority.
I like all kind, I have nothing against no one
But it seems I'm locked up, and have no freedom
It's not about the color of your skin or
where you come from
It's about who you are, spiritually and mentally
I have a destiny,
To find out who I be
Surely, it's not the rebellious little person that's in my mine
It's the good hearted one, who seems to shine.
Who am I
Who am I
a piece of me shows
when I break down and cry
I'm God's child
I know he loves me,
So I'll hold my head up high,
no matter what critics say
I am who I am,
accept me or go the other way.
I think I've found myself
I am me, you are you,
that bad person that was in me
has actually left.
Even though people try to make seem bad,
a good person is what they should see instead.

My Father

Some fathers aren't there for you
My father shows me love, care and he gives me money
He's the best father in the world
My father is kind, sharing, he's nifty
He's like a "red rose," dulcet
He's fine, fair, first-class always have been

He's been there since day one
Him loving me will never be done
We're covered by a quilt of love
It warms us like no other.
God used his hands of one so dear

The one I call my Father.

Today

Today is October 23, 2006
Today is the first day of the 2nd nine weeks
Today is a new beginning
Today I received a great blessing from God
Today changes will take place
Today I observe
Today I really keep my mouth shut and my eyes open
Today I will not call him
Today I will pray, more than usual
Today I will read, the bible that is.
Today is a turning point
Today I will write poems
Today I will create
Today is a new day, yesterday is my past.
