Stranger's Eyes

I look into the eyes of a stranger.
Those eyes shun me and push me away.

Their honest eyes want me to disappear
even though their sweet voice says stay.

I stand alone in a crowd of strangers who stare at me.

I don't belong in my own home.
I don't know where I should be.

Even though the voices at home are soft I know
their intentions are harsh.

I don't know what to think.
I am lost in the dark!

Then I look out of the stranger's eyes.

I turn to leave and wave my goodbye.

I Love You Too

The rain falls gently making a soft melody.
The flowers smile as they look up at the sky with glee.
The birds take shelter in the old oak tree.
This is a memory of you and me.

You asked will you marry me.
You asked with a please.
You and me became a we.
Our marriage made me so happy.
This is a memory of you and me.

You went off to war.
You couldn't hold me in yours arms anymore.
I received a letter from the navy shores.
My heart hurt like never before.
You were the man I adored.

Your last words were, "Our love is true."
I didn't know what to do....
All I could say was,"I love you too."

An Entry

I look upon it to see my soul laid out bare.
Snippets of my life open to the world without a care.

Ink settled on paper turns to magic.
Stories that are comic and some tragic.

My only true friend who never turns me away.
They are always there night and day.

To scribe with pen my deep emotions,
to write about my daily devotions...

It is the mirror I hold to see myself clear,
to figure out what I hold dear.

A journal, a diary, whatever the name....
those words are mine to claim.
