Woman's Worth

Ladies, since birth
We need to know what we are worth
The pearl between our legs
is what everyman begs
Before opening them wide
value your pride
Speak knowledge out of those lips
Don't let every man grab at those hips
Treasure this as your riches
Don't act like everyman's bitches
We should be every man's wife
Before being the givers of life
Hold your head high
Your pride no one should buy
Educate yourself
Know your worth
Believe in your beauty
Have love for thee
Then your soul will be free
of any negativity or jealousy
You will know your worth
Teach this to our children
Show them pride
Love them wide
So they don't have to hide
or commit homicide
or suicide
Mend them strong
It won't take long
Women know that you belong
on this Earth
Equal at birth
Contributor, Creator
Is what a man will adore
For his future
So girls, ladies
Take care of your health
Know your wealth
Be true
and love you

Give Me Flowers

GIVE ME FLOWERS

When my birthday came
You never gave me flowers
You fussed you screamed
you almost hit
Didn’t say Happy Birthday
I received a promotion at work
I couldn’t wait to tell you
Called you to explain the news
All you did was give me the blues
Later you never apologized
You never gave me flowers
You fussed you screamed
you almost hit
Didn’t say Congratulations
The year of our Anniversary
candle light dinner
Your favorite meal was done
You came home late
words slurred
smell of alcohol and perfume
I asked what happened
Where you been
You fussed you screamed
you almost hit
Wait
You did hit
Didn’t say sorry
Didn’t say Happy Anniversary
Never brought me flowers
Ran to my girls house
cried all the way there
Tried and bruised
You caught up to me
Stop me from reaching there
Your hands waving in the air
Landed on my face
And everywhere
Slipped and fell then hit my head
Now I remain resting in my bed
My family and friends cried
You were there to say sorry you tried
You didn’t fuss
You didn’t scream
You didn’t hit
But you did bring me flowers

Heartbroken

HEARTBROKEN

I never saw you on bended knee
You never asked Will You Marry Me
Days weeks months and years went by
I never got the chance to get that special dress
We built a home
Combined our family
added some additions too
I dreamed of that day
The plans the gatherings
But still
I never saw you on bended knee
You never asked Will You Marry Me
I am here
You are here
We work hard to keep us right
During the day and night
at least we once did talk
about that union walk
Shopped and purchased the love bands
But still in all
I guess I never will wear your name
I never saw you on bended knee
You never asked Will You Marry Me
I am still heartbroken

I Can Fly

I can fly
All I do is try
Can’t be a victim to my failures
Test out my wings
Make sure they are strong
And before long
I am off again for another adventure
I completed my take off that was a pleasure
I can almost see the highest mountain
But I have long ways to go
Won’t look down below
Afraid that I may fall
Need to remain tall
To show that I can make it
Will not have fear
My heart sings my cheer
That I am almost at the mountain top
Feel the sun rays
As my LORD do prays
For me to complete my tasks that he has planned
No need to land
Can’t rest now
Victory is about to show
Guiding through the air
At times my vision is not clear
I wipe my eyes
To focus better
The wind starts to pick up
That’s okay I can still fly
Falcons and Eagles try to chase
Or redirect me
I will stay on my path
No one can tear me down
No one will bring me down
I am so close

Fly Angel

FLY ANGEL

With such deep sorrow
tomorrow
Tomorrow
Are never here too long
I’ll stay strong
We shall stay strong
I see the photo’s of your smiling face
and just for a quick moment I escape to another place
Remembering your voice
your laughter
You were such a sweet character
We will cherish your honest caring loving spirit
As the season is about to change
Our love thoughts and good-byes we exchange
We will miss you dearly
Deeply
Heartfelt
As you gained your wings to fly
High
We will try to envision your joy
Memories we will enjoy
Until we join you

Love Songs

Love songs

I hate hearing love songs
When I’m not in love
I know
Sometimes you win
Sometimes you lose
With my track record
I am ready to throw in the towel
Surrender
Surrender to all the disappointments
surrender
Surrender to breaking hearts
I mean
I did give it a shot
Love
I gave it a few chances
I have stepped out of my comfort zone
To love unselfishly
But that didn’t work
I tried to love selfishly
That didn’t work either
I do
I really do understand
The ups and downs of relationships
Such as life
PERIOD
I am tired of hearing all those love songs
When I am not in love
Oh he looked into my eyes
and there were no lies
Or
Your love is all I need
You give good love
Love
Ugh!
As time moves on
Age grows
Who knows
If I will ever find that someone
That special one
To bond with
To grow old with
Resting my head on love one chest
Listening at their heart beat
Holding hands
Laughing
Talking
Cuddling
Embracing
Yeah
Yeah
But as of now
I hate hearing love songs
When I’m not in love

Birthing a New Me

Push, Push, Push! Is what I heard him say
Oh I am! Damn this is too hard
It's late in the day
and I don't know what the Hell I was thinking
Again! I should not be doing this at my age
This place looks small feels like a cage
I am thirsty and hot
Push! Push! Com on give it all you got
I thought I did that
At least 10 years ago
I really thought I had everything under control
You know had things in order
That was all in my mind
Life, it's not so kind
Oh! Come doctor take...take...take...it out
Ms. Jones no matter how loud you shout
You are going to have to do this
Come on doc don't dis
Help me
No! now push we got all night
That ain't right
Let me be
Push, Push, P-U-S-H
What is the rush
Come on
Alright I am P-U-S-H-I-N-G
I hear this strange sound
Ms. Jones come on I see something round
This time my feet will be planted on the ground
Push....I see the shoulder
Life....I will be bolder
Come on you are almost out
Yes! I shout
Come on keep going don't stop
Oh! I'm not I'll reach the mountain top
AAAAH! Doctor Doc is that it
Am I done
Now, Ms. Jones it has just begun
When dealing with your new life don't run
Don't try, do your best
And the LORD will take care of the rest
As he cuts my cord
I shout Thank You LORD
Here Ms. Jones here you are
CONGRATULATIONS on birthing a new you

I Could See the Sun

I could see the sun
I start grabbing at it
Trying to move up closer to it
So I can feel the rays on my face
And restore air back to my lungs
The faster I waved my arms
The more it seems that I am not getting anywhere
Running out of breath
Can’t hold it much longer
The salty water stings my eyes
But I can still
Still see the sun
Praying that I can hold out
Because the sun is getting bigger by each stroke
I am starting to feel the heat
At a steady pace I keep on moving up
Closer and closer
Bigger and bigger
I see the sun
Finally my face feels the cool breeze
I fill my lungs with air
I feel the sun

Now where is the land
