Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
Love...
Beautiful...Peaceful...
Laughing..Caring..Sharing..
Smile...Joy... Sorrow! Anger!
Snatching! Hacking! Bleeding!
Vile...Empty...
Hatred...

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
A rain drop was falling from the sky,
Recalling its days in the high.
How proud had it been,
While scorning the green,
Far below.
Now, falling back again,
Knew this drop of rain,
All the pride of being of sky,
The days of soaring high,
Were all too small,
Like a lie.
Ground was upon which it could rely.
Where at last,in peace could die.

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
Years ago I met him.
Soft, beautiful, so cute he was,
With tiny eyes, lying on the grass,
In my garden in a chilly morn,
Pony, a little pup was born.
Knowing not where his mother went,
To take him up, down I bent.
From that day on, together we grew,
He was among my friends a few.
In a deep voice he used to bark,
Had twinkling eyes, pitch dark!
He followed me everywhere blindly,
Flirting his tail, up and down the park.
His reddish fur had a special shine,
He was special, he was mine.
A street dog, a sweet one,
We played and ran and had so much fun!
Yet, he was but of the street,
So just as wish one could treat!
One day a boy a stone did throw,
It hit his leg and he bit him so.
The boy's tears all could see,
His fears? His blood? None but me.
But somehow I too had been mean,
I judged him, his pain went unseen.
How rude...how rude I had been!
So without any how and why,
I believed in the wicked guy.
And from my garden threw him out,
First time ever at him did shout.
He too was hurt, I knew it well,
As he licked my feet, his tears fell...
Firmly...I asked him to leave,
he would be back soon, I believed.
But his heart was sored
to its deepest depth,
So, looking down he slowly left...
Something was going on in his mind,
Even for once he didn't look behind...
Disappeared he, as I saw,
Limping sadly down the lane...
And.........
I never saw him again.....

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
The day when I'll be gone...
Chilly winter wind all over...
Body and soul...
When my eyes will dip
into darkness...
And lips will be dry as
dead leaves...
That day I will wait no more.
No more will I care of
your indifference.
For, I know,
in the chronicle of disgust,
my love is in rust!
But that day my heart
will not hear your pray.
You will no more be able
to love me.
I'll be far away...
And no more will I answer your call...
Never again.

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
Hard luck
Luck.
I hoped to gift you
with my tears
to adorn your
crown with a
somber face
and a land of soul
with banished smile.
But hard luck
Luck!
I tongued clean
the salty tears.
Hard luck.
Better luck the
next dream-wreck!

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
Ask the fingers holding
an aloof pen.
Ask, where its passion has gone,
ambition has fled.
The fingers will be still.
How...
the empty eyes will look
at the pale pages
yoked with numbers in black...
Then,
just observe...
how a curve widens on the face
as they gaze out of the window...
The far...the farthest!
Fast, it dies out.
A swarm of feelings from the heart's cavern,
pick up their last daring flight,
to die at last
of thirst
of love...
These eyes will never dream.
Words will never be welcome.
One day they will be dumb as stars,
And grey as time.
They'll give up the race,
race to superiority.
Cold the heart as ever,
will sleep in a colder body.
Frozen as dreams they were,
will leave the turbid eyes.
Will leave,
for the worms to delight
in a body so baked in plight!
And Time?
Will it mourn or joy?
That it could not find
the fragrance of a budding mind
before it too was damned.
Lost forever
in its quicksand...

Girl,
little girl,
cute, sweet smile,
crushed under Lust's feet,
dries...

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
I dare not say no to dreams.
They, like mountain streams,
are fast, unstoppable, raging!
Wretched children of Ambition!
They soar, they soar too high.
Then fall and bleed and die.
The sores leave my soul to reek
and cry over the fragrant past.
Joy and Smile, in air so vile,
in the shroud of sorrow,
breathe their last.
But I can't!
I can't escape their frozen grip.
They trick and deceive.
They cut my chest deep.
They break my soul to pieces!
Carry the silt of guilt,
which blocks my mind black.
Yet, I dare not say no to dreams.
I sway, I sway with their whims!

Sulakshana Bhattacharya Poem
A world so
full of lies
even when it dies
has a gene of it
a gene pool
to fool
the future beings
they will
lie too
like me
like you.
