The Promise

Take a listen to the laughter of the stars
As their twinkling brighten into daylight
After a night of braving a dark veil
It's the promise of a fresh start

Listen to the sighs of the waking sun
As it parts away the curtains of darkness
Its' rays tenderly peeping from the horizons
It's the promise of a beautiful day in the making

Listen to the effortless whispers of the wind
As it drives the chill away from dawn
Swaying the trees gently to wake them up
It's the promise of a joyous day ahead

Listen to the melodious song of the birds
As they sweetly call out for each other
Musically singing to a new day
It is the promise of hope

Listen to the tapping of the ants
As they ready to go out and eke
Unanimously united for a noble course
It is the promise of bounty

Listen to the cry of the skies
As the rain falls down steadily
After sagging with pregnant clouds
It is the promise of a cleansing

Listen to the slapping of the waters
As the river purposefully snakes it way
Against the odds of rocks and debris
It is the promise of a peaceful rest

Listen to the breathing of the seedlings
As they persistently stretch off the ground
After a long season of hibernation
It is the promise of a rebirth

Listen to the chatter of the children
As they innocently get to play
Watching out for each other
It is the promise of solidarity

Listen to the rhythm of the heart
As it pumps life through you
Even with all the odds you face
It is the promise of survival

147 Gone Too Soon-Garissa

147 brothers and sisters
147 sons and daughters
147 friends and comrades
147 hopes and dreams
147 innocents lives
Killed by 147 terrorist bullets

No! you are not alone
A nation cries in grieve
We mourn in anger
counting from 1 to 147
the pain, the hurt, the anger....

God, have you forsaken us?
147 can’t just be a statistic
The ripple effect affects
A whole society, the world
Please avenge these deaths

Mourning the slain students of Garissa Univ in Kenya, soldiers and police officers. #147isnotjustanumber

Nature's Party

The stage is set, suns’ bright enough
And the rainbow colorful alright
The wind starts the humming, pines whistle along
And the birds sing out in unison
The party can begin now, a jamboree it is
And its gonna be natures style
The waters reflect the message, grass carry it along
It is a beehive of activity

The frogs croak throatily; desperately trying
	To align their raspy vocals
The trees stagger unsteadily; trying as hard as
	Possible to perfect their dance
The butterflies jump disorderly; beautifully determined
	To choreograph their routine
The ants are tripping over each other again and again
	Trying to organize their band
The skies are the audience, always changing moods
‘coz the party never gets underway

Like a Butterfly

I should spread out my wings
For the wind to carry me away
To a far plush paradise
A safe haven for my dreams

A place showered by cool rains
Which means spring and not storm
A place bathed by the warm sun
Which means summer and no sweat

A place where the wild flowers
Bloom in a colorful display
A place where the mountains echo
The secret song in my heart

A place where the soft lush grass
Carpets the paths under my feet
A place where the gorgeous rainbow
Forms a halo over my head

Carefree I should be flying
Artistically I should be dancing
As I savor the cool fresh air
Scented with natures fragrance

See the energy beneath my wings
Observe the grace in my movements
Understand the determination within
And let me out of this cocoon.

My Friend

You are like a bouquet of flowers
	That beautifies a house
You are like a gem stone
	So precious is your worth
You are like a vast forest
	So marvelous is your personality
You are like the early dawn
	That spreads hope around
You are like a road map
	That leads to an adventure
You are like a secret garden
	That lets me be myself
You are like a beautiful sunset
        That lifts my low spirits
You are like the burning incense
Your aura gets to my head
You are like a wise saying
        That motivates my life
You bring some precious moments
	To treasure day by day
You are a true friend
	That has touched my heart

Smile Again

Though tears flow from my eyes
Though pain wretches my heart
I know I will smile again
And hope the sun shines tomorrow

Though darkness enfolds me
Though heavy rain cants stop
Though shattered, hurt and confused
I shall smile again

Though the heart can’t beat it all
Though tired weary and lost
I know I will smile again
And I will, smile again

Dirty Little Lies

The secrets whispered through my ears
The lies witnessed by my eyes
I hide them all inside
Now no one will ever know
What's behind my smile disguise

Its the things I hide inside
The things that I'll despise
They're darker and stronger daily
Always increasing in their size

They weigh me down
They hold me bound
While I shield their lives
Protecting while I die inside
And eons on, my wounds wont cauterize

Stolen Waters

I am with the one I love
but I can't stop thinking 'bout you
he may kiss as firely.......
but not as passionately...
His embrace might be as tight
but not as warm and cozy.
I blindly follow this curvy road
not knowing where it will end.

Am pulled to you by the sensual lure
imagine the explosion of lust experienced!
confronted by this circumstances...
I can only believe this is infatuation
You are my evil sweet angel
whose illusion just comforts me
your face is an indelible mark
that leaves me warm and fizzy.

Something Inside

Deep inside there is a fire,
Consuming me with a desire,
Am trying hard to be modest,
But shouldn't I be honest
'Bout the excitement inside ?.

Like deep waters I’ve been still,
Waiting for that one ripple.
The gloomy nights have been a nil,
Not knowing joy could be so simple.
Deep inside the emotions bubble.

Very patiently my mind is waiting,
But earnestly my body is yearning.
Something tells me not to fight
For this is my true plight.
Just throw caution into the night.

Like a wildly ranging river,
Torrents of emotions threaten,
My modesty to conquer.
As I seek not to quiver,
In the pleasure I retire.

Obsessed

The way you walk in
The way you look at me
The way that you talk
You get through to me

The way you smile
The way you hold me
The way we flirt around
You get through to me

The way you touch me
The way you caress
The way you coarse me
You get through to me

The way you wink slyly
The way we make it seem real
The way you make me believe
You get through to me
