Setting You Free

I want you to know I am happy for you.
Your dark skies have finally turned blue.
Your heart beats in a normal pace.
I see the sunshine on your face.
We have cried many tears.
And shared many fears.
I am no longer afraid to let you go.
I still care for you and I want it to show.
They say if you love someone you should set them free.
I don't remember the rest of that story.
All I know is today I saw a new you.
Now I know our relationship is through.
Our friendship, I hope will last.
Just like the memories of our past.
So when you see me just smile and wave.
For I know my love you no longer crave.
With these words I set you free.
To be the man I know you will be.
Enjoy your new life as much as you can.
And remember, as a friend, I am still your biggest fan!

Let Our Future Begin

There were many problems in our past.
Time went by so very fast.
Where do you see us in a year?
This question brought out a lot of fear.
I see you and I becoming closer.
With you holding me oh so near.
I see us having more time to share.
A little time for each other is only fair.
This year will go by oh so fast.
Taking away the pain from our past.
We will build a life together.
With the plans of it lasting forever.
I won’t hurt you again, never.
There will be no more questions.
No more doubts.
I’m here for you through thick and thin.
Release the past and let our future begin.
