Feline Night Presence

Cat howling, after
Midnight, before dawn, is darker than sound,
Made when no ones ‘round.

Shavous, True To Us

Shavous, True to Us
Rosh Hashanah of Fruits,
Literally, When Tree Fruit Blossoms,
Figuratively, Free Do-It Creativitus,
Earth was Created for Man's,
Improvement by Applicus,
Of Torah Chiddush Wisdoms!
1st 2,000 Years were Barren "Tohu"-ous,
Post Har Sinai, Inventous Peoples' Brainstorms,
Thus, Mortals, Sans Angels, Torah "Safeguardous",
Since Only Man Could Mind Contradictions,
Possible True Welfare, Wedding Any Multiple Versus,
Rambam's "Shalom Emes": Torah in Stark Distinction,
To Other Beliefs' Messages to Us,
To Wit, Feelings Define Right Action,
By Contrast to Absolute "True or Falsous",
Over & Over, the "Nachas", Cunning Deception,
Pulling the Wool Over the Righteous!

Shavous, also Rosh Hashanah of Learning,
Judgment on Next Year's Acquiring Torah,
Thus, Instead of Flailing, Earning,
Internalizing in that We "Soar-ah",
Satisfying Wings Earnest Yearning,
By Disowning Olam HaZeh Mesorah,
Of Narashkeit Replaced by The Discerning,
Taryag Sensitivities, the Infinite Aura,
Held Back Since Creation's Beginning,
Antidote to Amelek, A "What Ails Cure-a",
Elevating Our Commitment is like Lightning,
Flash Flaming a Gourmet Flambé Endura!

Baseball Game

Swing of the bat, contests
Fielders’ gloves, ball in motion,
Run, slide, throw - called safe!

Innings are by turns,
Dramatic or biding, boxscores
Revealing who’s up.

Catching foul ball strays,
Or in bleachers just catch rays,
Fans cheer, hoot and wave!

Hear “Smack!” a hit!
Vendors warble, “Peanuts and beer!”
Star spangled banner.

If you come early,
Ask for heros’ autographs,
Snap players’ faces.

Distance ‘tween bases,
Had to be divinely ordained,
Perfecting the game!

Whether the home team ,
Overcomes temporary calamity,
Makes or breaks dreams!

Oh To Hear 'Play Ball'

Baseball is on my mind more,
When frigid winds freeze to the core,
Opening day,
Seems eons away,
Snow shovels strike out, wood bats score!

Gregorian Chant Rap

Mozart composed the Jazz of his day,
Bach could Rock in the same way,
Music is music,
Melodies mimic,
Young tunes turn classical fogies’ heads gray.

Having a Cold, Quickly Gets Old

I miss the play of outside sunshine,
But the nose knows it’s safer to quaver,
From going outdoors, acting sanguine.
Raw throat, stalled breathing - I’m on the floor,
Caused by flying too close to the ceiling.
Snow was in store, but I dressed poor,
Saw the sights, had too good a time,
Impulses attended, weather ignored.
Now it’s chicken soup in place of wine.
Emotions - once pleasures, now bore;
Strength - once coiled rope, now balled twine.
Even the apple of my eye seems cored.
If mindful for a change - symptoms will decline,
As the coughing nasal squeak turns quietly into a roar.
Meanwhile, I’ll buy shares in the Kleenex line,
I have a hunch - my use of tissue cause prices to soar.

I Hope This Can, What I Can'T

You uncovered
Your heart, my lack of wisdom,
Remorse can’t describe.

If time was replayed,
I’d have shared more heart your way,
Seen actions fore hurt.

I intended no pain,
I thought we could break cleanly,
But my thoughts were wishful.

Now I can’t undo,
And choose the outcome anew,
I apologize.

I hope this allows,
Flow, where feelings were stopped,
Recall hurts, even today.

Unable to salve,
What callous things seemed right,
Years cannot dissolve.

I thought I could solve,
The world’s pain extent with soft
Words, instead of hearing.

Antimony Foolishness

Age 51 is often when one’s unable,
To buy the status quo, it’s old and needs mending.
New sports car, how youthful! Refuting the label,
Of premature old age, gray hair pending.
Girl friends need to be added to the stable,
Young women, their company lending,
Immortal aura when sharing their bar table.
What invokes “against aloneness”, or “befriending”?
You’ll find a word “antimonos” in Greek fable.
The element Antimony, #51, is alloy tending,
By emulating its properties, “Romeo” is enabled.
By experimenting with the valence one’s sending,
Reactions occur, some of which may be stable,
But it’s hard to tell if another is bonding or pretending,
Especially, to induce attraction, one increases spending.
Remember to study and use the Periodic Table,
It prolongs youth, the illusion of vitality never ending.

Jibing Sail Chaos

Main sail boom swings ‘cross,
Boat heeling wild, all duck!
Waves wash, dryness past.

A Healthy Diet of Misteaks

My failures are rough but teach.
My errors, windows to truth.
Before discovery, I don’t hear the Greek,
“Eureka!” but “Huh…?” How uncouth!
Meeting a contradiction, I reach,
What the Author intended to auth,
Does this mean this world has a mean streak?
No, I think after hard work must ensueth,
Humility, for man needs help to be meek.
