God Only Lent You This Child

I entered my little girl's room
To kiss her and tuck her into bed,
She replied, not just yet mommy
And this is what she said.

I have to talk to the pretty lady
Who comes to visit me each night,
She says she will take me with her
So I have to look just right.

She sat down at her vanity
And began to brush her hair of gold,
She then gets out all her jewelry
And puts on all she can hold.

She kneels by her bedside
With her little hands clasp tight,
Where are you pretty lady
I want you to meet my mommy tonight.

My mommy doesn't know I am leaving
Yet a lot of nights I hear her cry ,
I wanted it to be a secret
Could it be she already knows why.

As I listen to her my eyes grow misty
So I just let the teardrops fall,
I know the time is nearing
But God let me keep her just a little while.

I hold my precious daughter to my breast
Such a sweet and darling little thing,
Oh God what will I do without her
That is when I hear an angel sing.

As the singing grows louder
There surrounded by a golden light,
Was the most beautiful angel
It was the such a glorious sight.

She took my little girl from me and lifted her
Enfolding her within her wide spread wings,
Just as the sky burst open
A multitude of angels sings.

Do not be so sad says the beautiful angel
For God has prepared for her an eternal home,
You see he only lent her to you for awhile
Then she rose and they were gone.

I Wish I Had Listened

I wish I had listened
About my drinking and driving,
Now my best friend is dead
Because I drove without caring or thinking.

I wish I had listened
About drugs and all the kinds,
For now my brain is damaged
I can no longer control my mind.

I wish I had listened
As my parents each night prays,
That I not have unprotected sex
It is to late for now I have aids.

To late I did not listen
For now I have less time to live,
To late because now I am pregnant
To the innocent child aids I will give.

We are young and think we know it all
We ignore the dangers lurking out there,
We ignore the advice of our parents
We retaliate and just don't care.

Now we pay the prices for not listening
Now we pay with every agonizing breath,
Even though we are still young
Our bodies are worn and nearing death.

We try to blame God for what we have become
Though we know it was by satan that we were deceived,
God tried so hard to teach us right from wrong
Though it was satan to whom we believed.

The Heros of Our Country

THE HEROS OF OUR COUNTRY

The night seems extremely long
As I stand guard against the enemy,
I know not how long I can hold on
For my body grows tired and weary.

There is no peace and no time to rest
We must not let our defenses down,
For the war rages on night and day
With the stench of death all around.

Why do we fight a war we can not win
Arabs have fought each other for many a year,
They will never be the one to stop this endless war
They kill each other for therefore death they do not fear.

I know our troops all around the world
Fight for all our countries to be free,
They fight with all their courage and stamina
It seems it is just not meant to be.

We shall pray for our troops where ever they are
Pray they will soon be on their home ground,
Pray openly that God might see you are sincere
That under God worldly peace may be found.

Will You Hang Your Head In Shame

When the heaven opens with blinding light
There will bands of Angels that sings,
Do we weep with happiness, or hang our heads in shame
Because we know in God's eyes we have not earned our wings.

God has given us plenty of warnings of his coming
When he will be choosing his flock one by one,
With all the signs we have seen we know the time is near
That the time for repentance and salvation has come.

God has bestowed upon us his love and devotion
Gave us time for redeeming and confessing our sins as one,
Only when we he calls our names from the book of life
That we know God, not the evil satan has won.

For the loved ones that have gone on before us
We have all hoped we would soon reunite,
So as we listen intently as each name is called
Will we be standing on his left or on his right.

I will not be afraid of the glorious coming of our Lord
I will not be afraid to rejoice and praise his name,
So for all you non- believers of our heavenly Father
Will you be the cowards hiding and hanging your heads in shame.

The Beautiful Ghost

Strolling along the seashore
Leaving her footprints in the sand
The tide washes over the shore
It was like the footsteps had never been.

She shades her eyes and scans the horizon
For a ship that is supposed to come in
That carries her precious loved one
She has waited for so long to see again.

She watches as the ship sails nearer
Breathless as her anticipation grows
The ship docks and the passengers unload
She ask for him but no one knows.

Oh where oh where can her loved one be
He has been gone for such a very long time
He could not have just forsaken her
For their love was deep and strong.

The last to exit the ship was the captain
He walked slowly as he desended down
He did not sem to notice the beautiful lady
Silently waiting in her white wedding gown.

Rumor has it they were to be married
By the Captain of the highest rank
When the high winds of a raging storm
Capsized the ship and it sank.

Her body washed ashore, but his was never found
It is said she still roams the seashore
Waiting fervently for her missing groom
Even though she realizes she will see him no more.

A Childs Transition

A childs frustration is hard for parents to understand
For they are caught between childhood and being a teen,
The changes they are experiencing in body and in mind
Is very difficult for them to sort out the in between.

A child needs to know you love and trust them
Yet they need to know you are still the boss,
Listen to them when they ask for your advice
About the many obstacles they have to cross.

Don't push them away by saying you've not the time
For you may push them away from you for good,
They need to know you are always there for them
That they will turn out the way you hope they would.

Be patient if things are not always the way they should be
Give them guidance, yet not br to strict or severe,
Show them you love them and not show them anger
For they will see not the love , but only the anger they will hear.

Do not ever let them leave without saying I love you
Without expressing how your love for them runs deep,
The rest you just let go and put them in Gods hands
Put all your faith in him and their safety he will keep.

God's Hand

Another day like so many others
With American's blood spilling on foreign sand,
So many wounded and so many lives have been lost
There are so many led to heaven by God's hand.

How many soldiers do we have to sacrifice
To satisfy this political and useless war,
We can not win against the Arabs
For they just keep coming back for more.

They sacrifice their own women and children
Arming them with bombs and other war fare,
So they can hide behind them in cowardness
They it is what Allah wants, but they do not care.

The militia has fought for hundreds of years
They will not allow an Iraq government to be formed,
They abhor Americans and our troops interfering there
So they will keep killing them as they have warned.

Keep our troops safe while they are there
May God bless them for what they stand,
Because they are brave and will keep fighting
Till God leads them out by his hand.

Their children are growing up without a parent
Having to face life the best they can,
Though they know they died a hero
And was lead out by God's hand.

They know they will have to be very strong
Yet still some are to young to understand,
As they grow older and understand what happened
May God give them strength and lead them by his hand.

Deep In the Valley

Deep in the valley where the grass is velvety green
With snow topped mountains surrounding each side
Tis the most beautiful sight I have ever seen
They seem to stretch so far and wide.

The river runs through the beautiful valley
It supplies water for animals of the wild
I remember running barefoot through it
When I was but only a mere child.

The old cabin still stands there by the river
All run down and the roof falling in
Oh but if I could only go back in time
I would live in that that old cabin again.

The deer would come and drink right by your side
At night you could hear the coyote howl very clear
The sounds to me were very soothing
For I knew there was nothing for me to fear.

Now that I live in a far away city
I hope someday to return there for good
For I miss the quiet and peacefullness
Soon I will retire and return just like I knew I would.

My Child's Dream

My son was born with a crippling disease
Even so his little heart was full of life and hope,
There was not anything he would not attempt
Overcoming his pain and learning to cope.

He could not do the the things other children did
So they did not want him to join them in play,
He tried so very hard to keep up with them
But his little crippled legs always got in his way.

He was watching the boys play ball one baseball
His little nose presed hard against the fence,
He wanted to play ball with them so bad
If only they would give him a chance.

The next few days he would be there again
Holding to the fence so he would not fall,
The boys got together and finally let him play
Like in his dream he would get to play baseball.

He was the last up to the batters plate
The bases were loaded and the game was tied,
He stood there on his little crippled legs
Holding the bat, he swung hard and wide.

The crowd was so silent you could hear a pin drop
The air was tense with anticipation as he swung,
The bat cracked as he hit the ball over the fence
The crowd roared as the game had been won.

I always new my little boy would lead a short life
He finally got to do what he had dreamed of,
And that night as he lay peacefully sleeping
The Angels came and took my little child home.

Where Will I Go

As I stand on the bridge so high
Watching the rolling waters below,
I wonder if I just jumped in
Where will it take me, where will I go.

As I walk aimlessly down the railroad track
That seems to run in a endless row,
If I keep following it them forever
Where will it take me, where will I go.

As I follow the path through the forrest
That winds through the trees and over the meadow,
If I keep following the winding pathway
Where will it take me, where will I go.

As I stare at the clear blue sky
The sun shines all aglow,
If I climb the stairway to heaven
Where will it take me, where will I go.

The river will run into the ocean
The railroad, I do not know,
The pathway will lead to the mountains
The stairway to heaven is where I want to go.
