Deep In the Valley
Deep in the valley where the grass is velvety green
With snow topped mountains surrounding each side
Tis the most beautiful sight I have ever seen
They seem to stretch so far and wide.
The river runs through the beautiful valley
It supplies water for animals of the wild
I remember running barefoot through it
When I was but only a mere child.
The old cabin still stands there by the river
All run down and the roof falling in
Oh but if I could only go back in time
I would live in that that old cabin again.
The deer would come and drink right by your side
At night you could hear the coyote howl very clear
The sounds to me were very soothing
For I knew there was nothing for me to fear.
Now that I live in a far away city
I hope someday to return there for good
For I miss the quiet and peacefullness
Soon I will retire and return just like I knew I would.
