The Perfect Storm

She tried to drown out the noise
of all their mocking laughter.
Booming thunder shook the world
and lightening came quickly after.

She watched the storm above her head
with sadness in her eyes.
The pain had come again like rain
falling from the skies.

Dark gray clouds formed overhead
with no sunlight to come through.
The glowing rays were scattered away
and never got to you.

But no one came to rescue her,
there was nothing left but rain.
Even though the storm subsided;
she drowned in all her pain.

The Healer

She wanted to lock herself away
and question her world view,
she wanted to cry out the pain
and scream at the world too.

Like her tears the rain had come
coming from all around,
here she was, suffering,
and no one hears a sound.

She began to line herself with marks,
like her pain that would stay awhile.
All her joy had slipped away
with nothing left to make her smile.

She stashed away her healer
to save for another rainy day,
the clouds began to move again
and slowly faded away.

Pretty Eyes and a Heartbeat

There's no way I can win
when there's always someone I'm below,
I was bound to lose even before
I said the first hello.

I was nothing more than a second choice,
my happiness, turned to stone;
I guess sad people love the rain because
they're no longer crying alone.

Like dominoes I took the fall
while you fell for another one.
You ended in love and I ended in pain
and there's nothing I could have done.

You've made me relive memories
I never wanted to repeat.
You are a beautiful destructive tornado
with pretty eyes and a heartbeat.

Breaking Point

Sometimes I'm truly happy;
once, in a great while,
you never really realized that
so much hides behind a smile.

It's hard for you to remember the things
I thought you'd never forget.
All these cries out for help
and you haven't heard one yet.

But we can take a lot of hits;
this is undeniable,
but once what was bottled up pops,
who is to be held viable?

I'm not exactly who you think I am,
sorry to disappoint.
Even the kindest people in the world
have a breaking point.

Gone and Forgotten

It's funny how some people say
"you'll miss me when I'm gone."
Your absence may be thought of once,
but the world will still go on.

Confound within my barriers;
I won't dare ever cross the line.
Sadness is but a wall
between two gardens of mine.

All alone in this cell
with no cracks to break free;
the glowing rays were scattered away
and never got to me.

I wrote your name on the bullet so
my sorrow could forever embed.
I wanted you to know that you're the last
thing that went through my head.

I thought that I was better dead,
as my life simply lacked a will.
Echoes of my miserable past
remain in my cage still.

Garden Flower

The love that she gave away
Was the only love she kept.
They took all of her for granted,
And so at night she wept.

She lost her only hope,
And the fractures, never mended,
They all say they didn’t mean it but
It doesn’t matter what was intended.

They used their strength against her,
And the hatred, they empower,
Living among a garden of weeds
She was a bruised flower.

Second Choice

I entrusted my heart to you
I thought we were renown
you did the same but didn't mind
when it all came crashing down.

Instead you found a different one
with a brighter glow
he's willing to say that he loves you
and I can't get passed hello.

You'll never chose me over him
knowing this, is the worst,
I can't keep being your second choice
when you've always been my first.

I took my love and all I had
and gave it to you to keep
you've been the one of my dreams
but I must be still asleep.

Tangled

Everywhere I look around
and watch those who pass on by
leaving me alone with just
the stars and moonlit sky.

Tangled knots keep me here
with ties I'm forever bound
I try and call out into space
but no one hears a sound

With nothing but a necklace of twine
I go to the edge and look down
waves crash against the sides
coming from all around

I think about how people would react
when they heard the bad news
all my thoughts have become a bomb
impossible to diffuse

But even when all hope was lost
I was lifted from the sinking ship
you took one look at the ropes
and that's all it took to - *snip*

Fate

As he walked along the path
he looked at the world around him.
He felt as if his life was drowning
and had forgotten how to swim.

The only thing he still possessed
Was the letter that he wrote.
Her love was at the bottom of the sea
But all he could do was float.

Across the bay was the girl
Walking on another trail.
She wanted to escape this deep dark place
And get on a boat and sail.

But those two roads never crossed;
Their destined meeting did not occur.
All that she needed was him and
all he needed was her.

Life is long and the world’s too big
to get caught up on just one affair.
I believe there’s a light at the end of it all;
And we should be willing to get there.

Starry Night

As the sun slowly set,
it said its last goodbye.
It went beyond the edge of our sights
and darkness filled the sky.

In the distance we saw lights
of blues and whites and reds.
We stared a while at the stars
twinkling above our heads.

As they flickered in the sky,
the stars danced with sheer delight.
They showed off their golden prime
for hours into the night.

As they ceased their sparkling display
they found another star to chase
as they raced they illuminated
the darkest depths of space.

But since all things come to an end,
the stars concluded their show.
The sun peaked slowly over the horizon
and said its first hello.
