Ode To My Sister

(Ode to my Sister)

P erhaps it was never meant to be
R ight from the start, a baby sister for me
E arly January morn when she breathes her last
C old hearted fate, took her, a few years past
I n that few moments, I touched her tiny hands
O ur spirit entwined forming an eternal bond
U nited thus our soul separated by fate.
S omeday, someday, we’ll meet at heaven’s gate

A precious little thing, tiny hands on my fingers cling
U pon this world she graced for a time fleeting
D reamy little eyes, she stole a look at my face
R attled my emotion, my heart started to race
E ver so gently, I caress her head of soft curly hair
Y es, tears did flow down my cheeks, I truly love her.

J esus, I prayed, “cradle her in Your arm, protect my little sister.”
A nd, He answered right that day, and to heaven He took her.
D earest little sister, I shall come knocking at heaven’s gate
E ternity awaits, we shall see each other, but not yet,. . . not yet.

L et me live my life to the fullest, reach my goals and dreams
U ntil such time when I can prove nothing more
I shall come to you, my little sister, and be a brother once more.

Sunflower

Bright tiny yellow petals circling all around,
Tall green stalks firmly planted on the ground.
A thousand little seeds adorn my rounded heart
Huge green leaves ready to play their parts.

I shall compare myself to this glorious bloom
whose bright colors paints the sunlit noon.
Standing upright and ready to follow the sun
In faith and deeds to the Holy Blessed One.

Small in the eyes of many my stature may be
But I have many tiny petals, each a little bit of me
Little tokens of ability the Almighty bestowed
To put to good use, to make other’s heart aglow.

These thousand little seeds I hold in my breast
each one to help me grow, to face life’s many tests
Tiny bits of knowledge, some experiences I hold
Each a tiny little brick for a future yet untold.

leaves that flutters in the winds that summer blow
sturdy stem standing straight refusing to fold or bow
Yet with all it splendor and glory that abound
its roots is still firmly planted on the ground.

Sonnet 1

Is life worth living if it’s not for you?
Cold thus the summer, the fields flowerless
Such is the world without thy beauty view
Of eternal gloom my sorrow boundless

As thy presence convince this unsure heart
Life’s worth living if thine love I possess
Believe these words I say before I part
Ever my love be true this I confess

Eternity’s but a moment with thee
Every smile’s a delight to my soul
Let me to the sound of your voice sleep
Never to wake should I not hear you call

Let me live my life with your heart in mine
May my last breath whisper thou art divine.

Five Years Ago

Good morning she said to me, twas a Sunday morn
Outstretched arms, asking for a hug, with a yawn.
As we embrace, the sun shine through the window,
I kiss her forehead, and tickled her tiny little toes

In a beautiful red dress and shiny curly locks
She brought her little purse loaded with her snacks.
As we walked along she held my hand so tightly
I smiled at her, "i'll never let go, don't you ever worry."

We played at the park, oh! Twas a joyous happy day.
A balloon in her hand, you should have seen her play.
"I'm thirsty," she said, "hold my balloon, don't let it fly away"
I smiled at her, "I'll never let it go, don't you worry," I say.

It was dark when we got home she was half asleep
I took off her shoes, tucked her between the sheets.
Soon she was sleeping, her face angelic and peaceful
I'd say a prayer, thank God for a day so wonderful.

And as I lay down on my bed that night to sleep and rest
I realizes that all these was just my imagination at best.
See, for last time I hold her was exactly five years ago.
But then I smiled, don't you worry, my sister, I would never let go.

What Is Happening To Me

What is happening? What is happening to me?
What’s this weird feeling inside trying to get free?
O tell me please, tell me quickly, tell me true
Tis the first time I felt this, tis for me is something new.

My heart beats faster whenever you’re beside me
The world seems brighter with your smile I see
That tickle in my heart whenever I see you near
Or the songs I hear with your voice so dear.

A simple glance from you lifts my spirit on high
When you smiled at me, I’m floating to the skies.
Call out my name and I’d hear the angels sing.
Cause you’re just that, an angel with no wings.

Tell me now, tell me what, and tell me why
Tell me what I’m feeling but please don’t lie
O what is happening...what is happening to me?
Please tell me now, tell me true, tell me quickly.
