A Flower

I love the smell and softness
of a flower as it lay
spread in splendid color
and sweet aroma stayed
like a virgins' kiss
with inviting touch
that gently opens
to give itself away.

Utah Desert Sunset

Hold the beauty of the desert
it's wind cold
pristine
blanketing wide expanse
reckoning
awake to drifted thoughts
blown endless across plateaus silent far
where distant dreams painted in the sand
draw close with longing
like lips across a rose
eager for the touch of soft deep colors
well defined in quiet self repose
or the purple of the sky
now stayed together
the hazed sun orange red against.

The Ghost of Ole Blue

Old Jim Hasselgrove lived out by the river bank
where you'd see him sometimes cookin
viddles on a small wood stove
now Jim's best friend was a dog named Blue
cause no matter where Jim went Blue was sure to be there too
like soft butter spread on bread those two were meant to be
so it was that the years passed by
yet that dog Blue never left Old Jim's side
then one day somethin mighty awful happened
seems Old Jim had gone up and passed away
everyone in town thought Jim should've had a church grave
but loyal Blue stayed by old Jim's shack
which in the end is where they buried Old Jim
and where some swear the ghost of ole Blue still remains today

A Long Awaited Friend Returns

Oh how beautiful the flowers spiral

each touching with vivid colored hues

saying to my heart

a long awaited friend returns

bright like the sun that weds the sky

in soft crystal blue.

A Moment's Wisp

I felt the Sun breathe it's life
as you became
revealed inside a dream of golden fire
touching in a rainbow hue of colors
resting on a dying mist
living but
a moment's wisp.

Dad

In your frailty I felt your spirit touch
reaching from a quiet somber heart
to give it's love
unrestrained in peaceful gesture
as if to say that nothing mattered more
than having us together
remembered here this special day
forever.

My Friend

I saw your laughter for life,
and desired things for you to be alright.
The bright cheer your eyes did bring.
Never worry of troubles that be they said
because a friend to you I'll always be.

Cried Innocence Again

All longing spirits soar
taking refuge to the sky
above where stay the place of gods
and dreams that never really die
there where life is born
bathed in golden glimmer
by the brightness of the sun
of yet discovered places
hidden found among
the heavens distant far
where thoughts believed become
cried innocence again

Like a Passing Breeze

I felt the wind soft against
the gate of love and hope
and beauty flowered in wishful grace
fragranced
whispering quietly in the passing breeze
to the keeping of my heart

Love's Embrace Once Lost

Falling softly
dying gently to the ground
I lay unspoken without purpose
carried by the wind
and whispered silent to distant places
where unnamed gods became
untouched by fear or death
and love's embrace once lost
did live forevermore
