Farewell To Mr Spock

The world today must mourn the loss
Of a soul that touched generations across.
This man who changed how we looked at space,
And was associated with the Vulcan race
For where he traveled friends were made,
Hearts touched by grace and the love he gave.
And when departing he'd raise one hand,
Give split Vulcan sign from their planet grand.
With just four words, “Live long and prosper,”
Good will prevailed and hope was fostered.
What Hollywood started five decades ago,
He made much more as new fans showed.
Everyone esteemed those pointed ears,
Wherever he went throughout the years.
With Kirk, McCoy, and Scotty too,
This team of friends endured so true.
Folks loved to watch him face harsh foes,
Armed with his logic head to toes.
How often it had saved the day,
If mankind just followed his ways.
But now he's left this planet to see,
And boldly meet his destiny.
For Leonard Nimoy was his name,
Eternally honored now rests his frame.
Yet if by chance there's another race
We find one day in outer space,
All we've learned from “Mr.Spock”
About logic should help us a lot!
But more than that we must confess
His human side taught us the best.

Flowing over rocks of green

I Won'T Say Goodbye

I won't say goodbye, it's a word that implies, something now is ending,
And I'm too full of endings, to want that extra load.
Instead, I'll think evening has come, a night must now pass.
Yet with the stars just like our sun to show us all the way,
Across the spans of darkest nights, there lies a brighter day.

I won't say farewell, it is one of those words, that means a scene is closing,
And I'm too full of closings to want that extra load.
Instead, I'll think a pause must be in life's great symphony.
Our Maestro turns your page and mine, tuning some strings in need,
That each may play their greatest part, as onward now He leads.

I won't say godspeed, again it's a word, that means one is parting,
And I'm too full of partings to want that extra load.
Instead I'll think the time has come to trust in God's great care.
Our years are filled with anxious prayers, yet He is always near,
Perhaps these moments must all be to teach us faith not fear.

A Solitude of Praise

Waves and winds comfort me
As I toss in fitful dreams.

 The universe covers my head,
Sand gives my bones a humble bed

Oh, how much I'll fill this spot,
With all the memories I've got!

And tell this place how much I care,
Of loved ones, whose souls I've shared.

While seeking life in all its scope,
Their why I'll hold fast to hope.

A world for food, one for delight,
Morning, noon and in the night.

Each day when I say my prayers,
I'll thank God who truly cares.

Then count my blessing on earth,
A task too easily I've shirked.

Now That's Relativity

Astronomers behold celestial delights,
Endlessly finding glorious heavenly insights.
Joyfully keep learning more natural obscurities.
Previously quite routinely seen targets usually viewed with x-rays,
Yet zoomed in using Hubble Space Telescope, helps prove Einstein's Theory of Relativity!

Master Cat Race Rules of Living

Attention seeking gets rewarded so use anything that works.
Baby humans can be dangerous, especially for tails, ears and whiskers, so watch out!
Cats are masters and rule, everyone else follows, period!
Dogs are great for teasing, blaming, stealing good food from and the lowest species, period!
Eating well is an art so snub dry food and play sickly to get better quality.
Furniture is wonderful for climbing, attacking, napping and removing hair all over.
Going to the vet is NOT fun so PROTEST VIGOROUSLY!
Human hands are designed for petting, rubbing, carrying, and scratching cats.
Investigate EVERYTHING, EVERWHERE, and ALWAYS!
Jumping from various heights without knocking stuff down is a talent, but if something breaks find the nearest human and love them to death!
Keep claws sharp by scratching a variety of materials, furniture, walls, and floor coverings
Leave gifts for humans to help them feel loved-like dead animals; prove amazing hunting skills and keep them in line.
Messy meals and litter boxes aren't allowed but if there's a dog around and something else happens, use the scapegoat ploy(with innocent look thrown in).
Napping 80% of each day is essential for physical and mental health so don't skimp.
Owning humans is an important responsibility; play, snuggle, entertain, keep happy but avoid hissing off at them!
Purring while snuggled and gazing up at humans will delight and make them easier to control but be careful one doesn't become too attached and lose control.
Quiet meows, a sad look, waving a paw while one is on their back playing helpless makes upset humans happier
Remember, don't be nasty for life can get MUCH SHORTER.
Staring out windows while planning on ruling Earth or torturing lesser species is awesome; so practice!
Tongue drooling or hanging out is for dogs or dumb felines; awesome cats tuck it in.
Until further notice: all humans from youngest to oldest, need training to serve the Master Cat race.
Viciousness is forbidden; cats acting so get ranked lower than a puppy...forever.
When choosing napping spots remember, size IS important; where tiniest or biggest humans sleeps IS the perfect place.
Xanthouse is just one color cats appreciate so experiment redecorating the home while exploring.
Yikes, if litter boxes fill up it means new pooping piles must be left elsewhere like planters, closets and bedrooms.
Zits, bug bites, other sores, or just plain dirt- humans lack an adequate tongue and need professional tongue licking help!

Self Portrait

Each face is like a canvas where upon one's thoughts do trace
Revealing for the world to see our ugliness or grace.
Though slow the task, beware how fast each artist's mark is made
When life's done collecting our sum, it's worn beyond the grave.

Sweet youth's innocence passes like fields of springtime flowers
As each soul's character is forged by their choices every hour.
In life's countless sundry trials befalling great and small,
Many grow refined, some less inclined stumble, or they fall.

So seek the Master Artist who helps repair our mistakes
And from life's palette of choices helps us wisely to partake.
Then when we meet to kneel and bow before God's Holy Grace,
We'll find His strokes of perfect love upon each soul's true face.
