Seize the Day

Live each day as if it were your last
I tell you dear friend time is running so fast
All of us would one day return to dust
I know it's hard to accept but we must

Tell the people you love about the way you feel
Give them a hug and show them love that is real
Say sorry to those you offended so wounds would heal
Accepting your faults is not really a big deal

Do it now and don't tarry lest it be too late
Sometimes it's not wise for the right time to wait
Because your plans could be ruined by fate
If you do it now you would feel really great

Smell the pretty flowers, listen to birds singing so gay
Enjoy the beauty of nature give yourself time to play
Remember on this earth we can't forever stay
So I tell you now is the time, go ahead and seize the day

Candles

Broken vows and shattered dreams
Bright future that suddenly dims

The heaviness of pain and sorrow
Making you feel like there’s no tomorrow

You start feeling you’re all alone
Facing this cruel world on your own

Everything is looking so bleak
You feel your soul getting very weak

At times like these just close your eyes
Listen to these words so wise

Touch a friend and see the spark
Friendship is like a candle in the dark

Touch more friends and it gets brighter
Making you feel a whole lot better

Until suddenly it’s dark no more
You have finally reached the shore

So when darkness falls do not fear
Think of friends who are sincere

Just reach out and touch a friend
Someone who will stand by you till the end

Let their laughter ring like bells
Light your way with friendship candles

My Eternal Wife

Most wonderful woman God gave to me
You fill my heart with so much joy and glee

Everything I will drop just to heed your call
Together with you I can face it all
Enchanting lady to my heart you hold the key
Rightfully yours from the beginning till eternity
Never will I cheat or betray your trust
Always I promise this until I turn to dust
Loving you with a love that forever will last

Warming my nights and making my days bright
Inspiration you bring makes me want to write
Fulfilling my needs in every aspect
Eternally it is you I will love and respect

Angel

It was a dark and lonely life
Living each day in total madness
Always in chaos, always in strife
An ordinary life full of sadness

Then one day an angel came
She came in a mortal's disguise
Healing me, taking away my shame
Loving me, making my soul rise

She was wearing an ordinary house dress
Looking simple but stunningly glorious
From my life she cleaned up the mess
Making me feel so gallantly victorious

I never believed angels were real
Never believed until the day she came
Now I'm a changed man by the way I feel
True love for my lovely angel I proclaim

If I be granted a longer lease
And live this life a little longer
It would give me joy if her I can please
Love her, hold her and in my heart keep her

There Is Hope Yet

When we think about life and start to fret
About things we have done that we truly regret
Bad things that we would really want to forget
Just know that things in life we should learn to accept
No reason for our eyes with tears to get wet
We should think about our loved ones and friends we have met
And try to realize that there is no reason to be upset
People care and their love we should take in with every breath
We should let nothing hurt us now, not even death
Life isn’t fair but we should remember and get our minds set
That in this world there is love and there is hope yet

NOTE:
There is hope yet. I would like to invite all soup members who reads this poem to

Reverie

I stay awake in this dreamlike state
Thinking of how I dislike my own sad fate
And in this state my mind goes wandering
Thinking of her reveling in the feeling
Knowing her body as I have in that life
Feeling in my soul that she is truly my wife

I get engulfed in the wonders of true love
Thanking the stars and the heaven above
Feeling her lips and the warmth of her skin
Seeing her glow with that warm light from within
The taste of her lips is like sweet berry
Taking me deeper in my reverie

Only In Dreams

I had the strangest feeling
Wanting to live in dreams
But its only there I could have her
The lady I love so true
It makes me feel so blue
That I could have her only in my dreams

And when the night has ended
And the day has began
I turn to a sad and lonely man
Knowing she is out of my reach
And the distance can’t be breached
Except only in my dreams

She must know how I am feeling
'Cause she sends me reeling
 Every time she says
You’re wasting your life away
Trying to live in dreams
Wake up from your dreams

In the real world I look cool
I got everyone fooled
But nothing is as it seems
Cause I only want to live in dreams
To love her in my dreams
To stay living in dreams

Strange as it may seem
That is what all the world means to me
To be living in dreams
Nothing better that life can bring
Than what I get in dreams
The lady who is my queen woman of my dreams

I really need a break
I’ll put everything at stake
You can take my life away
If it’s the price I have to pay
For wanting to live in dreams
With the lady of my dream

Give Her Back To Me

She sits there in front of her PC

Across the ocean and far from me

I know that it’s not really easy

Not the way we want it to be

But across the distance I feel her

Almost like I am with her there

I can really touch her soft brown hair

Her love is something that is beyond compare

My soul is longing for the final union

That sacred oneness, the spiritual communion

I would face the devil and his minions

Just to have our eternal family’s reunion

I know that our love will always be strong

Even through the distance we know we belong

She is the one, she is my hearts song

A love like ours could never be wrong

And now as I sit here in front of my PC

Far from her separated by sea

To the heaven above I cry out this plea

Dear God please give her back to me!

Cybercrime Law

Can't they understand that its just too much
You post or tweet but what you write you watch
Bullied by lawmakers into censoring one's post
Exactly the thing that we hate the most
Reason flew away when they made this law
Carelessly ignoring that it has a flaw
Reminding us of the days of Proclamation 1081
Ignorant lawmakers forget that those days are gone
Mindless of the freedom of speech that it would kill
Entirely forgetting that this is against Juan's will

Lawmakers who passes law but does not think
Adieu to you for your careers will stink
Wait for the next elections and watch your vote count sink

A new law against cybercrime was passed in the Philippines and it took effect last Oct.3.
This law includes a very vague section against libel and in effect it is going to curtail online freedom of speech or expression. Filipinos are against it and are clamoring for an amendment. If you are wondering about the name juan which was used in this poem then I'd like to inform those from different countries that Juan refers to the Filipino people.

"a Birthday Spell"

You are now past “Hogwartz age”
Time to let you out of childhoods “cage”
To turn your life’s book on a new page
So get ready to take center stage

Witches’ brew and Wizards spell
Joyful ringing of heaven’s bell
It’s now the time, can’t you tell
To cast on you a Birthday Spell

Age old wisdom from Dumbledore
Pouring out to you from heaven’s door
All good tidings endlessly pour
Making sure you need not ask for more

A kiss of courage from Harry Potter
The strength of soul is what really matters
Quick wit and charm from Hermione Granger
To preserve you from any danger

Minerva showers you with luck
With misfortune you will not get stuck
From Ron Weasley a friendly smack
That will always protect your back

Snape sends a potion of notion
To ward off all kinds of temptation
From us, our endless love and devotion
A love that is deeper than any ocean

May you always be as glorious as a queen
May your life always be serene
As we cast this spell on you Josephine
On the day that you turn eighteen

Note:
This poem was written for my lovely niece Josephine when she turned 18.
I wish her all the best this world has to offer.
