Hummingbird

Beating wings furiously fast.
Taking sips, long it won't last.

A flash of color blink you won't see
The Hummingbird fly up in the tree.

Coming early summer, leaving late fall
migrating for winter as this is her call.

We'll see her again when the flowers bloom.
              Leaving again before winter's gloom.

Life Is Worth

Life is worth living wherever you are.
Deep in the jungle or high on a star.

Life is worth living if you give it a try.
Even not thinking and wondering why.

Life is not always the way it should be.
Trials and troubles are not always free.

Sometimes our lives don't always seem right.
you can make it better by learning to fight.

Life is worth living whoever you are.
It's not worth stepping in front of a car.

You can survive it if you stay strong.
Just remind yourself good won't be long.

Keep your chin up and things will be fine.
And don't let the past keep you behind.

The Beach

The sun is hot.
                                       the water cool.

                                      The beach is the spot
                                      away from the pool.

                                      The smell of saltwater,
                                      the soft ocean breeze.

Let's you forget all your worries
                                      and do as you please.

Messed Up World

The world we live in is no joke.
Everything we have is going up in smoke.

 The world's money is tight,
foreclosures have no end in sight.

 Bankers gotta make deals
Car makers can't grip their wheels.

The world is at war and still there's no cure
for cancer that knocks on our door.

Our world is in trouble ,we need help on the double.
If we don't stop now and throw in the towel,

 It isn't a joke
that we'll end up in smoke.

Frisky Kittens

At night when humans are tucked away,
This is the time kittens will play.

They get on the chair,
and fly through midair

Kittens don't need light
to see well at night.

And so they will play
until the break of day.

When the sun is deep,
you'll find them asleep.

Dreaming of mice
and everything nice.

The Quiet Storm

Snowflakes fall and hit the ground.
There they land without a sound.

I watch this from my window.
Listening to the Winter wind blow.

I hear it whipping through the trees
and know it is not just a breeze.

 Winter weather is abound,
Spring is next to come around.

The Snail and the Turtle

The snail rode on the turtle's back
The turtle never picked up the slack.

Across the terrain and through the river.
The snail grew cold and began to shiver.

The turtle swam and swam some more.
The snail fell asleep and began to snore.

The turtle got mad at the snail's snore.
The turtle tried to dump him on the shore.

The snail awoke with a start.
Falling off the turtle's back and it smart.

                                         The snail slowly crawled away.
Leaving the turtle at the bay.

The turtle stayed sunbathing on the rock.
The snail found his new home under a rock.

Free Floatin' Pisces

Pisces love to dream about fantasy in flight.
Daydreams of Island breezes of tropical starry nights.

Daydreams of mermaids splashing in the sea.
Wishing the Mermaid was who you'd be

Sitting on the Princess throne,
A tiara of gold all your own.

It's your birthday don't you see?
Today's the day to let daydreams float free.

Unworthy

Like a twisted climbing rose, you crept into my life.
Taking my peace ,leaving only strife.

You pushed me to my limit, putting me on edge.
Your abuse was like a stopping point, Like a privet garden hedge.

We lived this life day by day,
trying hard to stay out of each others way.

Until the day that I stepped out of your trap.
Realizing you were nothing more than a sap.

And now my peace has been restored
the voices in my head I chose to ignore.

My life is not like it used to be since I walked out the door.
Leaving you behind as I never did before.
