Kristen Drake Poem
I don’t know where I’m supposed to go, or who you want me to be
Would it be better if I were twenty pounds lighter, or a little bit more carefree?
What if I stop caring, or making phone calls to you at night?
Would you ask me what was going on, would you put up a fight?
I’m confused because it seems like you just don’t care
What am I supposed to do, sacrifice without allowing what is fair?
I want to be able to ignore that maybe you don’t want me as your own?
Really, be honest, have your feelings even grown?
I view you as a good man, with a heart and ambition for life
And I’m not asking for forever or even to be your wife
But I do know I deserve affection and simple courtesy
If your intentions are not the best, merely leave me be

Kristen Drake Poem
At one point in time she was a loving wife
I'm sure she has been through every aspect of life
There is no doubt her divorce caused her strife
But she is still strong.....
When nights pass by and she's still alone with tear-filled eyes
All she has to do is look for her children; those are her golden prizes
Nothing can ruin her feeling of joy, not even silly lies
She remains to be strong......
A hundred hours a week dedicated to her job, her passion to help
She finds satisfaction in healing other's wounds, that's how she has always felt
A heart that remains strong and caring no matter what cards life dealt
She struggles but remains strong.....
This is also the woman who holds me when I fall flat on my face
Her words of encouragement telling me to take life pace by pace
Life isn't easy, she tells me and "That's just not the case!"
She teaches me to be strong.....
One day I know my mother will no longer be here for me
But I hope to make her proud by being half as strong as she
I want to be a woman like her, that's what I truly want to be
So she taught me to be strong......

Kristen Drake Poem
I miss you, but don’t want to admit it because of what it might mean
Since you’ve come into my world, everything seems so serene
And I’m scared of saying or doing anything that might push you away
I’ll just sit quietly, so I can have you even if for just one more day
Can you see what I feel as you look into my eyes?
If I told you my true feelings, would it come as a surprise?
I want to hear from you all it is you feel
I want you to step to me and let me know what’s the deal
But how long should I wait for that to take place?
Tell me here, right now, face to face
I know you care; I see your feelings have grown
If you want me as yours, let it be known

Kristen Drake Poem
Have you ever come across someone who made you feel they understood?
When you no longer believed in yourself, they were there to reassure you that you could?
As each tear fell upon your cheek of that ever so present pain
Endless poems you wrote to ease the betrayl marked with a tear stain
There is a light and forgiveness at the end of it all, which your heart yearns to follow
But if that's the course you take, you hide your emotions and end up feeling hollow
Suddenly a gentle, loving hand you feel upon your back
The strength and happiness of this touch makes up for everything you've seemed to lack
After all the gray skies you finally see the sun come shining through
Little do you know, it's all because of you!

Kristen Drake Poem
Love me for who I am, hate me for who you would like me to be
Love me for the emotions I express, hate me for setting you free
Love me for giving my all, hate me for giving too much
Love me for the way we made love, hate me for making you feign my touch
Love me for the kisses and hugs, hate me for the affection I gave
Love me for my kindness, hate me for the lives I want to save
Love me for staying while I could, hate me for leaving too soon
Love me for the chaos I put in your life, hate me for I’ve changed your life’s tune

Kristen Drake Poem
It's not hate that I have for you
Nor is it love
I don't feel you hold me
You only continue to shove
I've grown up with you not around
Now you refuse to believe it could be true
My life moved on whether you were there or not
I didn't stop growing because of you
Inside me now I only feel a passion mixed with pain
Showing you that I'm not who you think I am at all
I want to prove to you that I'm not as little as you make me out to be
I too can stand up proud and tall
My Dearest Lord will protect me from your emotional blows
I no longer have to feel less
I'll walk away from your negativity with my head held high
I only ask my Lord for you to be blessed
Your satisfaction can no longer feed from my tears or insecurities
I'll bow gracefully and walk away
All the fighting, frustration, and disagreeing
You still expect me to stay?
I thought I'd be able to come to you when I was down
That was only me being a fool
My only mistake was to think you could understand
When the whole time you only told me I was full of bull
You've shattered my hopes so that you could feel superior
All so you could be right
Guess what? I'm not here to challenge your authority
I'm here to live, not to fight
I am who I choose to be, you don't approve?
Simply leave me be
The more you push and prod
The more I only want to be free
I guess I'll never be who you want me to be, but I've learned
I can only be one person, to be happy with who I am
No thanks to you
I will turn out to be an exhilarating woman
In my heart I feel this
That is what lets me know
I will make it through your cruelty
No matter how low the blow

Kristen Drake Poem
Tell me that you’re falling in love with me
And you can’t imagine not having me by your side
Tell me we have a future to look forward to
Even if it means you have to bow down to your pride
Promise that you’ll hold me when I’m lonely
And you’ll reassure me when I’m scared
Promise me that I can trust you
That you’ll take me places I haven’t dared
Sweetly whisper in my ear that I need no worries
You’re here to set me free
Sweetly touch my body
Make me crave you incessantly
Wipe away my insecurities
Let me know that I am what you want
Wipe away all the worries that reside in me
Convince me you won’t pull a stupid stunt
Because I will sacrifice for you
Your wish is my command
Because I will provide for you
All you have to do is reach for my hand

Kristen Drake Poem
Victory, not quite
Lust, maybe for spite
Love, not possible
Sweet endings, not probable
Until there was you.

Kristen Drake Poem
It seems you want a challenge; I’ll give you just that
If you plan on approaching me, please sir, remove your hat
Because when I give you a run for your money, I want to see your eyes
It’s easier to decipher if you’re filling me up with lies
Everything you expect of me, go ahead and throw it out the window
I’m not as innocent as you may think, occasionally I like sexual innuendos
I’m full of surprises, you never know what I may do next
And you won’t find the answers you need in any simple text
But if you will allow yourself to open up and be taken to explore
You won’t regret what you find; you may even keep wanting more
I will indulge you by fulfilling your desires whatever they may be
All I’m asking in return is for you to accept what I show you is ME

Kristen Drake Poem
For the longest time I've only wanted to love you but didn't know how
After all you've put me through, you tell me you're ready now
But as each day passes by I've finally begun to understand
You could care less about how I feel, you never thought to reach out your hand
Frustrations build in my head, making me feel so alone
How could I be so blind and not see the disrepect has grown?
It only takes one kiss or a few words for you to ease my pain
But baby if I don't walk away from you now all we'll have is rain
So when I say good-bye one last time
Understand I only tried to make you happy while you were mine
Time after time, I was patient with you
And now I find out you were creepin on the low instead of being true
You've tried to convince me again and again it was she who lied
These lonely nights spent by myself make me realize a part of me has died
As much as I want you stading by my side I've learned to look away
Now that you see I've had enough you're begging me to stay
All I can do is look at you and shake my head
You weren't too concerned about me when you had another woman layin' in our bed
Stop blamin me for your mistakes, I won't put up with it anymore
Don't act like you arent like other men, you know what I'm walkin' away for
It's not much different without you, wait that's not the truth
Instead of being brought down I'm a strong woman once again
Bye for just one last time while we're sittin' here arguin' about where I was last night
Tell me how it feels now to be walked out on in a middle of a fight!
There is only one more thing I need to tell, in the morning you're gone
If not there will be drama when your clothes are thrown out on the wet lawn
Don't look at me as if I'm the one doin' you wrong
You were the one that didn't believe me when I said I couldn't put it up with it for long
This is where our story ends, there's not much more to say
Your boys have told me how you're doing, looks like you're not too worried about yesterday
That is how I know I'm glad I have moved on
My heart has healed, and my tears are finally GONE!
