Shari Hammond Poem
Holding the picture of us in my hands
I look at my wrists
Torn and bloody
From the ropes you tied around them
To keep me so far away from you
And why?
Just to tell me good-bye
Even though every waking moment is spent alone
I'm still forever yours
Holding my sorrows within my heart
And I will still rise every morning
My love
Just like the sun
And with the morning sun
I still write to you a letter
A letter of love
Of pain
and of heartache
I can't bare to lose touch
Even though you're gone
Away
Far, far away
Never to be heard from again
You're still the same man
The one who kissed me goodnight
Always saying baby everything will be alright
And now
The night falls
So does the sun
And with this day ending
I will bite my tongue
To feel it bleed
So I know I'm still alive
Even after you're gone

Shari Hammond Poem
Above the ground
Below the stars
Under your spell of the heart
Sometimes I feel like dying
When I think back to what we had
I realize how alone I really am
So now I'll lay down and drift away
Taking this life as it comes
Day by day
Laying on the grass
It's so cold tonight
Wishing I could grow wings and take flight
I'll remember every kiss
Every touch
And every caress
I wish I could feel myself in your arms again
Like stars to the night
Blanketed and wrapped up tight
So next time you close your eyes
Don't let it come as a surprise
That I wish I was a star in your sky
