Happy In My Sleep

I have a place in my dreams
Where only she and I can be
And when we're there it seems
She knows everything about me

I talk to her about my lies
And share all my secrets
She answers only with her eyes
Telling me to let go of regrets

I ask her questions about death
And why God took her away
She only takes in a deep breath
And with her eyes says, "you'll know someday"

She walks through a garden of flowers
Outside our cozy place
Then sits by a brook for hours
Where we both just stare out into space

I feel so happy and at peace
Just sitting there holding the hand
Of my beautiful angel... my neice
Knowing someday I'll understand

My peace fades away
As I awake and weep
I try to hurry through my day
So I can be happy again in my sleep.

The Last Vacation

The sun seemed to last forever
As we walked hand in hand
My dad and I together
Our feet sinking in the sand

His smile was so bright
As he looked at me
What a beautiful sight
Of the ocean we could see

The South Carolina sun rays
Beat down on our tanned skin
Like we would feel it always
Like the happiness we felt within

The waves crashed on the shore
Grazing our bare feet
Our footprints not seen anymore
As the cool water washed away the heat

We made it to the house we rented
The beach was right behind
The morning always ocean scented
Sunset and sunrise will always stick in my mind

The week was full of relaxation
And sightseeing all around
I’ll never forget that last vacation
Your laughter was a constant sound

I wish we would’ve traveled there
At least one more time before it was too late
For life has many tragedies so unfair
And you can not dodge your fate

I will always watch the videos you took
Close my eyes as they fill with tears from the memories
For you will never again be able to look
Or feel that glorious ocean breeze

This Is Goodbye

You were standing beside me
Telling me all these lies
But I was such a fool so I couldn't see
Until you said all these goodbyes

Now I'm trying to get over you
The best way I know how
I keep reminding myself we're through
And living for the here and now

Chorus:

Cuz you can try to tempt me
But all your tricks they've run dry
We're never going to be happy
NO matter what we try
So yes this is goodbye

Verse 2:

You thought you could hide
And just get away
With having another girl on the side
But I caught on to how you play
I know you feel it too
It's just so hard to admit
But baby unlike you
I'm gonna be hard to forget!

chorus x1

Bridge:

Don't bother begging on your knees
I'm done with that
Ya just give me your set of keys
Before I get out the bat
Ya and come get your clothes
Before I get out the gas
And give the neighbors a show
Ignite them on the grass!

Chorus x1

More Beautiful

These girls now a days
Trashy with their clothes
And sleazy in their ways
Their legs they never close

But me I am classy
A lady for one man
They frown as they pass me
Their stuck up clan

They can’t see what I do
That they are idiots
Who haven’t a clue
They’ll never match my wits

My brain and intellect
Is more beautiful
Than their face of product
And their inside of dull

Drinking Wine Can Be a Tragedy

The road was like a flood

Just like what was in her head

I thought as I stared at the blood

And my friend was close to dead

That tragic and fateful night

When her car was in a wreck

And I had a long fight

From that shrapnel in my neck

She was the killer of her own life

This beautiful and brilliant woman

A scholar, sister, friend, mom,and wife

Taken away from her life's plan

What drove her to be no more?

It was the lovely red wine

That just an hour before

Tasty salty and divine

As we danced at the party

And laughed the night away

The drink made me not see

That she was starting to sway

So when asked if I needed a ride

I gladly accepted her offer

And as we started to slip and slide

In the winter snow that became a blur

I still didn't think that I was in danger

Luckily I wore my seat belt in her car

But I didn't realize that for her

Common sense was just too far

So as we impacted on the snowbank

I heard her and myself scream

And when I awoke my heart sank

For I was hoping it was all just a dream

What I saw before me I can never forget

As I watched my friend in the red snow

And knew forever I would regret

Being too drunk to know

Until the Day I Die

I cherish you my love
With the fiber of my being
I put nothing and no one above
Cuz you are my everything
I appreciate you baby
For all the things you do
For just being able to love me
Even after all we've been through
I accept you darling
As you are now and in years to come
I wouldn't change one thing
About the man you've become
I admire you sweetheart
For you inspire me to be more
You have from the very start
Taught me I have much to be thankful for
I love you my dear
For being the sun in my sky
For just being here
And I'll keep loving you until the day I die.

Left Your Mark

Reaching towards the sun

Waving the light through my fingers

Knowing what has just begun

The kiss we shared still lingers

I am a teenager again

Light and airy heart

Dancing together then

Our journey at it’s start

Now my hand out the window

With the breeze blowing through

That’s when I really know

All my joy is because of you

I am finally able to be free

To rid myself of the day

Of all that makes me worry

With you, they go away

I laugh again, a rare sound

With you they are infinite

Whenever you are around

My smile is a perfect fit

I hope you see and know

That I think of you day and night

That no matter where I go

You are my perfect sight

I am in awe of your presence

Like light, you brighten the dark

And I’ve been shinning ever since

You decided to leave your mark

Whose Tragedy Is It

I wonder if he knew
Before the impact
That his time was through
Or was he oblivious to the fact

Did he feel anything at all
When the metal was twisted
And the glass did fall
Or was his soul already lifted

Could he hear my mother gasping
Was he worried for her
Or did he not hear anything
I will never be sure

All I know is how we felt
At the loss of someone so great
At the hand that we were dealt
That tragic turn of fate

It was like a butcher’s knife
Straight to the heart
When you lost your life
A sad new journey we did start

The days go by slowly
The agony seeps in bit by bit
The tears make us not see
The irony of all of it

For we are now all in pain
And you can feel no more
Whose tragedy is it again?
I’m not sure anymore...

All the Paths We Take

When the wind blows
We will think of you
When the moon glows
It will remind us too

The lakes will freeze
And the snow will fall
But the endless happy memories
Will be with us through it all

We will shed tears
For the times we will miss
And for our remaining years
We will talk of this

Our loss is so great
Our happiness now very low
Because the tragedy on this date
Has left us a lot less whole

There will be many days
When our hearts will ache
But you shall be with us always
Through all the paths we take.

Someone With It All

To just be able to touch you

To feel you stroking my cheek

To once just be the one to

Make your knees go weak

Oh I would give anything

To feel you next to me

How my heart does sing

For you to let it be

Your soft and tender lips

Like pillows on your face

A trembling below my hips

Whenever I’m in your space

You just hug me tight

And I am jelly all inside

It feels like all is right

And my pain has died

Let me be the only one

To make your smile never fall

To help you finally become

Someone with it all
