Society Has Changed

Society has changed over the
past decades, centuries even.
What was once a peaceful
world that followed one rule
Is now full of hypocritical and
power-hungry people,
Who act all high and mighty
with their fancy suits.
Setting laws that go against
religion, patronizing us
 About what’s right and wrong
when in reality,
They are trying to monopolize
us into believing
What they think is right. Ding!
Don’t you get it?

In the past, we were against so
many things like gays.
We were separated by skin
color because someone
believed
That they were given the power
to belittle others without
consequence.
Our parents say we aren’t
allowed to drink
Without realizing that they are
being hypocrites
Because when they were our
age, they drank to their hearts
content.
Isn’t it funny how they tell us
that
Clothes that show a lot of skin
is the “devil’s work”
And to put more clothes on yet
they design and
Advertise the exact type of
clothes they tell us not to wear.
Funny how much of a hypocrite
we are right?

In today’s world, we are bound
by so many rules and
regulations
Created by people who can’t
make up their minds
Because they let others
influence their decisions
In order to keep up
appearances.
They start raising and lowering
standards and expectations.
Treating others like animals by
deciding what’s best
For someone without consulting
with that person first.
We continue not helping others
in need by turning
A blind eye while knowing it’s
wrong.
We ignore one’s existence by
giving them orders instead of
respect.
We live in such a cruel world.

It’s so cruel that in today’s
society,
We have animal abuse which
leads to endangered species.
We have to deal with
assassinations and murders,
Child abuse and kidnappings.
People’s beliefs and religions
clash against each other.
We make promises without
meaning.
We become arrogant, selfish,
and greedy
Without our realization,
apologizing without sincerity.
We are hypocrites within
others’ minds.
We cant exhibit loyalty and
trust
Because of past experiences.
We are filled with emptiness
and darkness
Because we have yet to feel
happiness and love.

We are lost puppies within this
world.
So lost that we can’t tell the
Difference between fake and
real.
We doubt our abilities,
Then turn to science for
acceptance.
Creating and using slang affects
Our learning abilities.
It’s like we are against life itself
By having abortions,
Bullying people ‘til they can’t
take it anymore,
So they seek out death by
committing suicide.
Isn’t it ironic how they tell us to
stay true to ourselves,
Yet they set rules for us to
follow, so
No matter how you look at it,
They are contradicting
themselves
Which makes them hypocrites
right?
Society has changed over the
past decades, centuries even.
And this is only the beginning…

Searching

I ran through the forest,
Looking for a sign,
Searching for the closest,
The closest one to find.

I walked across the desert,
Looking for a shady place,
With no one to alert
Me, to tell me i would never find a trace.

I swam across the ocean,
Looking for a piece of land,
Land that didn't follow the ocean's motion,
Swimming harder than I ever ran.

In the end, I didn't find that sign, or that shady place, or that land in the sea.
Instead, I found all three.

What Should I Do

What should I do?
It feels so wrong
Yet so right. No wait.
I really shouldn't.
Well... Maybe I should right?
No no no I can't.
I really shouldn't.
Should I go for it?
What do you think?
Oh no, our eyes met.
I can't look away.
Should I go for it?
The others will be
So mad if I do.
It was love at first
Sight! Ugh!!! Oh my gosh!!!
Screw it. I want to,
So I will. Right now.
*takes deep breath* It's done.
I really did it.
I finally did it.
They'll probably be mad,
But who cares?
It's finally mine!!!
Have you figured it out yet?
What I'm talking about?
It's my very first... ... ...
Wait for it....
STUFFED PANDA!!!!!!!!

Drifting

I wrote a song about you,
But others might think
otherwise.
Although most of it was true
None of what I wrote were lies.

It was about how we drifted
apart
That year we weren't together
Like how it was at the start
We knew it might not last
forever

But that didn't stop us from
trying
The memories I gained and the
friendship I lost
Never made anyone start
crying
Because we both knew what
was the cost

So as the years went on,
We regained what we both
thought was long gone.

How Do You Kiss

How do you kiss?
A common question right?
What if we miss,
Our lips falling in the tight
Space between us.
Do you shut your eyes?
Do you make a fuss?
What about the butterflies
Fluttering in your tummy?
Is it that big of a deal?
Why are you acting funny?
Just express how you feel.
It's cute though,
Watching you become a mess.
It's ok, just take it slow
Or are you taking a test?
Just calm down,
No need to rush
No need to frown
Are you starting to blush?
How do you kiss?
Stop thinking about it!
Don't you feel the bliss
Just relax for a bit,
Just go with the flow,
Then you'll see
It doesn't have to be too fast, but not too slow,
That's as easy as it can be!

Someone Important

Someone important.
Who could it be?
If you saw us together,
Then you would see.

She’s the best person I've ever
met.
She’s beautiful, kind, and
smart.
I can’t imagine my life without
her.
She’s been there for right from
the start.

Everyone should understand
how I feel,
Because I’m sure they’d feel
the same.
Now, I know this poem isn't the
best one there is.
It’s probably lame.

I don’t really care.
I love this girl with my heart
and soul.
She's the toughest girl I've ever
known.
She's the one who encouraged
me to make a goal.

She's made me realize my
mistakes
And taught me how to learn
from them.
She showed me how much
courage and strength it takes
To raise eight kids on your own

I don't know how many times
I've probably hurt her or if I
ever did,
But I know that no matter how
many times I do,
Whether it be in the past,
present, or future,
She'll always love me no matter
what.

She's my mom, you know.
