Drifting

I wrote a song about you, But others might think otherwise. Although most of it was true None of what I wrote were lies. It was about how we drifted apart That year we weren't together Like how it was at the start We knew it might not last forever But that didn't stop us from trying The memories I gained and the friendship I lost Never made anyone start crying Because we both knew what was the cost So as the years went on, We regained what we both thought was long gone.
