My American Dream

To write
To read
My American Dream
Poems and books
All it took
My American Dream
Is to be who
I want to be
No holding back
My American Dream
To learn and graduate
To make enough money
To put food on my plate
My American Dream
To make my mother proud
And do things she didn't know how
My American Dream
To go to college
And get published
To write about my past
My American Dream
Is to become famous
And explore things
I have never seen

A Friend Full of Pain

Her heart cries
But her eyes shed the tears
As she listens to the bad news
And all that she hears
Her soul is lost
To think all that she has lost
Remember the good times
Makes you want to forever cry
To think of whom she loves the most
And how that night he almost died
What would a woman’s life be like?
Without the one who changed her ways
To love and faith, to scared and pain
I watch her as she shortly breaks down
Already gone, don’t know what to do now
Just want to cry right along
But I’m trying to be strong
For her and her pain
A change of life, part of the future
A friend full of pain will always remain

From a Stranger To a Father

The greatest thing in the world

Yeah, until those other girls

I was your princess until that day

They ran on in and stole you away

You may never know how I cry

Some days I wish time would fly

People tell me to move on

But how can I if my love is so strong

Mommy tried to do what she needed

But it just never was the same

You disappointed me in so many ways

Everyday I always say,

“I STILL LOVE YOU TODAY”

Sometimes I don’t know why

But you will always be my favorite guy

Even though you never did your part

You stole the biggest piece of

MY HEART!

The Streets

The hoes
The projects
Always think you flyy,
Yet ya mother struggles
Father has two jobs
Don’t have enough money
And you still get robbed
Walk thru the hood
Niggaz always stare
Look left, Look right
Cops always there
Run up in peoplez house
Don’t even have a reason
Just want to run about
The street girls
The hood niggaz
The sirens
The fights
Crack heads and drug dealers
Parties all night
Remember those days
You know you miss that
Always wonder why
You would want to go back
Go back to the life
Of sex and crime
Baby mother struggles
Baby father hustle
Boys running around all crazy
Girls running the streets
Having madd babies
Mind ain’t set to go to skool
Damn that’s shame
‘Cause you think that’s cool
Low grades
High standards
Bandanas hangin’
Always flaggin’
Niggaz is stackin’
Niggaz is packin’
Clothes cut low
Body’s all shown
Struttin down the streets
You know she hoe’ in
Girls on the corner
Boys on the corner
Realize that’s how it is
Even if it ain’t how they was brought up
The hoes
The projects
Wonder who gon’ die next?
The struggle!
The streets!

Together Forever

He is my world,
His only girl
My whole life,
His future wife
Together forever,
We share the pain
All we been through,
Wash with the rain
The laughter, the cry
Those times, our smiles, will never die
Everything for us is still the same
The heart we lost,
But still we gained
As strong as we are,
Still my star
Always together,
Still seems so far
Hope and faith that we never part
Always and forever stays in my heart
My baby, my life
Together forever
I’ll never think twice

To My Baby Brother

What’s nearest and dearest to my heart
Yet is the farthest and the hardest
To realize that we’re apart
Watch you grow from a boy to a man
She’s gone now
And yet you claim
Someone else to be
The one who gave birth
She didn’t leave
She’s still in spirit
And he has you calling
Another women this name (mom)
Only one deserves that place
And she’s not here
All because she wanted the best
For her only baby
But all she can do now is
Watch you as she rests
You may claim her
But I know in your heart
That mommy will be mommy
From the start
I know you miss her
And I miss you too
Just remember she’s watching down on you
Remember all you been through
Me, you, him and her
We were inseparable
Now that she’s gone
The chain has broke
Tried to link it back with a different shape
Nope, no one can take that place
I’ll always love her as if she was my own
Even though she’s gone
You’ll never be alone
