The Road To Self Discovery - My Greatest Journey

Searching in the wilderness,
amongst thorns and creeping silence,
Finding myself lost and dazed.
The night whispers in my ear,
of unfulfilled dreams and desires.
I find myself alone,
praying that this isolation doesn't last for long,

I have journeyed into the wastelands,
Too far to turn back and admit defeat.
Bound by the weight of discovering myself,
I persevere on guided by determination,

I seek the truth of truths,
an answer to my place in this world.
Listening to the calls of my heart,
a mysterious force pushes me towards my goal.
Giving me strength when I fall,
sheltering me when darkness calls,

Parts of my life I have lost,
Parts that defined my identity and shaped my destiny,
I yearn to find the missing parts to complete myself,
In this journey of self-discovery,
I venture incomplete but I shall return whole.

Graduation Day

Graduation day is
the light at the end
of the tunnel,
A parental dream
that has finally
born fruit,
All their hopes and
desires come true,
A victory , proud
and absolute,

It is a joyful
event, after much
turmoil,
Tears and sweat,
nights spent in
embroil,
An accomplishment of
a glorious endeavor,
A smile accompanied
by a deep sigh,
the journey
remembered forever,

With a gown and
graduate cap,
they show themselves
a new to the world,
That one can dream
and dare to be
different.

War Has Come , War Has Come

War has come , war has come,
My home once a gem of beauty , to fires and rage it succumbed,
Powerless i watched , the desolation of man
How evil overwhelms and greed robs one of all sense
Day by Day loved ones fell,
Till our lives became nothing short of hell,
I prayed in silence fearing my inevitable doom,
For the grim reaper lays in wait ,
Thus i have resigned to my fate..

The morning sun arrived,
With the heavens granting me another day,
The screams have gone silent , with no presence of tyranny,
I run through the village searching for a sign of hope,
Till my legs grew weary and my vision grew dim,
I muster what strength i have,
Refusing to become a victim of fate,
Footsteps i hear , approaching fast,
Men with weapons with black souls drenched in hate,
As i look into the eyes of my executioner ,
with the certainty of death,
memories of my life flash , as i take my last breath,
War has come , War has come

A Happy Place

There exists a magical place,
Where one travels to find solace,
Leaving all hardships behind,
and freeing all negativity from the mind,
Where no betrayal exists , and people are kind.

The trees move against the gentle winds,
Constructs of man , Great ships sail in the deep blue seas,
Children playing in the courtyard , sounds of glee,
No signs of sickness or death , everyone is free.

A happy place this truly is ,
One i wish was of no return ,
I rest once again from a weary day, praying dear god,
Once more , when will i get to return to my happy place..

My Soldier, My Soul

A wintry night,
Heavens covered in a white hue,
All life came to a frozen still,
A soldier took the hand of his beloved,
Gazing deeply into her eyes he felt solace,
Unwilling to part he embraces her like it was his last,
For the battle awaits, his loyalty and skills put to task,

His last words to her before he proceeded to hell,
" Ill think of you amidst the hell-fire of war,
The love we share and the journey we travelled so far,
The enemy rages on to enslave and slaughter,
I shall fight them with all my might,
to purge them darkness and bring forth the light " ,

Overwhelming sadness and longing,
She wept and felt a void like never before,
Promising to once again before reunited,
She bid farewell to he beloved,
Months passed and there was a knock on her door,
His brother in arms stood in silence and respect,
He had come to deliver the final letter from her beloved,
He told her that her beloved fought the war with fierce determination,
Braved unfathomable evil designs of the enemy war machine,
He succumbed to a bullet in the heart,

I held his hands and his glow was diminishing,
I saw pride in his eyes that he had given his life for his nation,
I felt has sadness that he could not keep his promise to you.
As i whispered a final prayer to usher him into the gates of heaven,
He held a picture of you firmly in his grasp,
When the light from his eyes faded , a gentle smile remained,
He fought for the freedom that now covers our land,
He knew deep in his soul and heart,
that one day you both would meet again,
And walk together in the promised land.

Why Teachers Exist

Teachers exist,
to help us understand,
The beauty of the world and all its magnificence,
In hopes of cherishing all that we see,
and becoming a wonderful person with each discovery,

Teachers exist,
To be our pillar of support,
Embracing arms that we run into to confide,
They shield us from negativity as much as they are able,
So we can decide on how to fulfill our destinies,
Much like guiding angels from great fables,

One of God's gift to mankind,
The creation of teachers,
To lead and to instill values,
Harboring hopes of one day,
For the pupils nurtured and groomed,
To make the world a better place..

Reaching For Love , Conquering Darkness

Darkness and despair, light is disappearing,
Hope is overwhelmed, fear keeps building,
I extend my hand, praying for guidance
But the embodiment of death arrives, wishing my end with calmness
In the midst of surrender, the devil waits
But then i hear a voice, which echoes '' my love do not despair your fate''
A hand reaches out with the promise to give wings and a prayer
With wings i soar, out of the unforgiving crater,
And a new found strength to live and not to fold i gained through my prayer
Light has shone and the darkness has waded,
Memories of suffering and depression all but faded,
I search for the voice which gave me strength,
A maiden appeared with love overwhelming,
She gave me solace, felt like i was soaring,
Our hearts interlocked, never threatening to tear asunder,
At that moment a new resolve was awakened,
Take me darkness, leave me broke, shatter my spirit and leave me shaken,
But my love will endeavour, never having to fear consternation

Poverty

In the midst of the ruined city,
A man wanders ,
his face ravaged by grief,
He approaches silently , to the edge of the cliff,
His dreams robbed by desperation ,
His mind unable to bear the devastation

A man once full of hopes and dreams ,
Now he sits gazing into the tidewater stream,
Poverty has overwhelmed his land once abundant,
His existence, now been made redundant

All is lost and the struggle has become weary,
Life has lost all meaning , now dreary,
He contemplates death waiting to embrace the reaper,
With a reluctant step , he flings himself over the cliff,
His journey ends , and the deed is done,
No longer will his voice be heard ,
His final prayer , to once again embrace his beloved.

Nina's Freedom

Tears and pain overwhelming,
The sun shows no mercy to every soul working,
Nina slaves to work the fields,
Her master rages and pounds his fist ,
With violence he conjures fear at his fingertips,

The days grew long and weary,
Nina gazed at the flowers on the hillside,
and sought comfort in their beauty,
Born into a life of slavery,
She longed for freedom and a release from her misery,
One day she mustered all that she can ,
Running from the fields with hope in hand,

Nina discovers a place, unfamiliar,
She looks high and low for a sign of welcome,
Wanting nothing but to fit in,
From a distance she sees a man,
He walks towards her with a smile and extends his hand,
Sensing only serenity and a nature forged of good,
Nina agrees to his companionship
Following him giving thanks to God,

Years pass and Nina finds peace,
All feelings and memories of her past , ceased,
She tends to her flowers, with a gentle smile ,
And tells herself ,
"To find this heaven i would have walked a thousand miles"

Regret

Once again , walking on a path of
nothingness,
The cold of the night greets me, the
pouring rain reflecting my despair,
I stumble along the path, dreading to turn
my back,
Even the smallest of joyful memories turn
pitch black,

The sands of time continue to flow
through the hour glass,
So much truth to say, fearing which
moment will be my last,
Weeks pass , and i continue to protect my
secrets with lies,
Boundaries of my heart have been
violated, not once but twice,

From within the depths of my soul, my sins still
echo,
Screaming and demanding that i step out
from the shadows,
Cowardice etched into every cell of my
being,
So i continue my walk, unable to fathom
the devastation i may cause,
In the distance , faintly hearing the devil's
applause.
