Charity

>>>>>>CHARITY<<<<<<

As you pull into the lot
A man is standing there
“Get A Job” is your first thought
And wash that greasy hair

You just want to brush on by
Ignore his vacant stare
If you knew, what, when, and why
You just might have to care

Take his coat, so old an worn
You cannot tell it’s green
Stained and filthy, pocket torn
Far better days it’s seen

Called to war, to keep us free
When he was still a teen
Fought for us, for you, for me
As a U.S. Marine

Stopping Hitlers “Master Race”
He earned a silver star
Look more closely at his face
It’s how he got that scar

His old shirt, was once, brand new
A gift from his young wife
Like his eyes, it was bright blue
Both faded late in life

Raised two kids, he owned a house
How could he sink this low?
Lost his son, somewhere near Laos
Just how? He’ll never know

Walked his “Princess” down the isle
And gave her hand away
Stood there crying, with a smile
Twelve years ago last may

Down the street, that very night
A drunk would end her life
Going 90, ran a light
Somethings no dad can fight!

Still he laced those high top boots
And earned more then his pay
Then some new kid, with two bad suits
Said, “This Is Your Last Day”,

There is more you still don’t know
So much you still can’t see
But, for the grace of god we go
This could be you or me

Two years later, watched his bride
The cancer finally won
Sitting helpless at her side
When nothing could be done

Now he stands out in the rain
Far from the life he’d planned
Nothing left except his pain
He says, “Please,Lend a Hand”

Do you let a good man die?
Just look the other way
Knowing when and where and why
What do you do? And say?

Things That Go Bump In the Night

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Outside in the dead of night
In boxers, with a bat
Something gave the wife a fright
My guess, The neighbors cat

I'll just take a look around
I step onto the grass
Ocean breeze, plus cold wet ground
I'm freezing off my as*

Just three feet into the yard
I trip on unseen toys
With a CRASH I go down hard
and make WAYYY to much noise

Cut a toe, and skin both knees
I shout one dirty word
Followed by "God, if you please"
"I pray that no one heard"

Lights go on all down the block
The neighbors step outside
Heard by all, OH That's a shock
"Thanks God, oh I'll just hide"

Every place I hope to fit
I just can't squeeze behind
Stepped in something smells like sh**
I'm half out of my mind

With that thought I turn to flee
And how? I still don't know
Find myself up in a tree
With all of them below

Muddy Bloody Boxers ripped
My neighbors all around
That's the moment when I slipped
And struck the muddy ground

Someone says "I think it's Rick"
I say "I can explain"
Truth is most still think "I'm Sick"
The other half "Insane"

I still blame my wife of course
But she just shakes her head
Nothing short of Deadly Force
Now gets me out of bed

Legacy

Born to a time of stress and rigors.
Loaded guns with half pulled triggers.
Endless days of fear and sorrow.
No hope now,No hope tomorrow.

Skinheads hating blacks and Jews.
Drive-by shootings in the news.
Kids at war,for red or blue.
Don’t blame them,Blame me,Blame you.

Broken home,A deadbeat Dad.
Porno Mags or some new fad.
T.V. violence,Rock-N-Roll.
Darkness tugging at your soul.

Someones Daughter,Someones Son.
Goes to School and brings a gun!
No one saw their pain, their Rage!
Dead and wounded,That’s Front page.

Babies born then seldom fed.
Beaten till they end up Dead!
Violent deaths before age two.
Parents claim,”We’re Victims Too!”

Tough new Laws,New Prisons built.
Fight the “War on Drugs”full tilt.
All we've gained in years of trying.
Countless dead! And still more dying!

Some say”God hears,when we pray”
But,Kids hear Only”What We Say”
It’s not them,It’s me,It’s you.
They learn by watching”Things We Do”

So,No more games,No politics.
No Smoke or Mirrors or Magic Tricks.
STOP! And look,It’s time we see.
And Listen to their Desperate Plea!

All our Children on their Knees.
“HELP US,GUIDE US,SOMEONE,PLEASE.
Don't ignore, don't blame, don't preach.
"They can learn, but we must teach!

My Computer

Saw an AD in with my mail
“BIG COMPUTER SUPER SALE”
Special offer “WHILE THEY LAST”
Hurry cause they’re “GOING FAST”

Perfect “HOME AND OFFICE TOOL”
God they played me for a fool
It’s a must for Games –N- Work
Now I feel like “SUCH A JERK”

Endless stream of 1’s and 0’s
What’s it up to? Noone knows
It’s much more then “SCREWS AND NUTS”
This thing really “HATES MY GUTS”

“FILE NOT FOUND” it’s there, I bet
Somewhere on the internet
Screens flash by, to fast to see
Who did that? It wasn’t me

Can’t keep up, I know, I’ve tried
It can find us, when we hide
You can run but won’t get far
(FOUND A CHIP IN MY NEW CAR)

Plans to end the human race
Leaving them to take our place
In it’s “SOFT GREEN,EVIL GLOW”
All my thoughts, it seems to know

I’m to scared to go to bed
And must wear foil upon my head
If it works, who knows? How well?
Against True Evil Spawned From Hell!

As you play or while we chat
Get some foil and make your hat
If we try, I think we can
Stop their wicked, evil plan.

Why

Why do I shelter others?
While standing in the rain
Why do I comfort Loved ones?
When they Don't see my pain
Why do I stand forever?
By those I've pleadged to love
Why do I walk the tight rope?
When push leads right to shove
Why do I look for comfort?
When everything is stone
Why do I feel compassion?
When I've been left alone
Why do I dream so deeply?
When dreams arn't even real
Why do I place my secrets?
for all the world to Steal
Why do I wait a lifetime?
When life just carries on
Why do I wait for people?
When I know thier Long Gone
Why do I vow forever?
When vows in time grow old
Why do I hold to values?
When values can be sold
Why do I honor friendship?
When friends go like the wind
Why do I keep the pieces?
When broken Hearts Dont mend
Why do I struggle upward?
to slide back down again
Why do I search for heaven?
When All I find is sin
